Hello foodies today I bring you McDonalds newest release a new take on a very old burger, the all new Maple BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder . I been seeing the commercials on tv and as much as I have always loved their regular quarter pounder this not only sounded amazing but looked amazing in the images as well.
So today I ventured out to Mcds and grabbed one to see what all the hype was about.
Food 3/5 ok ladies and gents this new maple bbq quarter pounder really had to stand up to its original and unfortunately it was a bit of a let down . Yes you still get the wonderful juicy quarter pound patty in between a nice soft sesame bun but they have thrown in a generous amount of smoked maple syrup flavored bacon. It's not overly sweet but you can definitely taste hints of maple syrup in the bacon .so they have replaced the ketchup and mustard typically on the original with a new what I describe as a mild BBQ Aoili sauce very mild in taste but nice flavour I nice compliment to the bacon . Smothered on both sides of the bun this mayo and bbq sauce works very well with the flavors. The burger also comes with Two slices of cheese and some onions crisps that to be honest I don't think I could even taste or distinguish the texture. Along with the usual pickles
Overall it was not bad ,cant really say it was enjoyable either , but sorry Mcds the original one still is much better. I felt that the bacon taste overpowered the whole burger and the taste got old real fast.
Would I order it again? ..probably not!!!!
I am glad I tried it but for me it's not a burger that I would crave to reorder. The original however is always a trusted go to burger that the taste never gets boring or old.
Service 4/5 typical fast food service some items were forgotten to be put in bag but this has not been typical of this location in the past I guess depends who is on staff for the day .... read more
