I stopped at the Belvidere Oasis and for the first time in years, ordered something from McDonalds. All the other lines were too long. I was really surprised at the high prices, but it's fair to say my last McDonalds meal was 2010, maybe 2015. It cost $6.57 for 2 items off the cheap menu- a small fries and a 4-piece chicken nugget. No drink. The items came hot, fresh, well seasoned. Solid. But I'm still hungry, unfortunately. Food came quickly. Are in my car. The space is loud. I didn't see tables but perhaps they were off towards the middle of the oasis. Staff were social, chatting a lot, must have been a shift change as there were lots of folks moving through but not working. The young folks who were working appeared to be very focused and precise. By far the worst experience with this company I've ever had. I came on a charter bus with my school and we took a food stop. I thought I could trust a FAST FOOD place to give me my food, fast! Not to mention they would not accept my deal through the app so I ended up being charged $10 more than I should have paid. 24hr service?? Not. Even. Close. Pulled up to the drive thru and waited a minute or two and no one bothered to answer that. Went inside past the apparent 'grill cook' on his smoke break just outside of the front door mesmerized by his phone. After yelling 'hello' a few times a lady finally showed up and told me it was going to be several minutes for any food because there was no grill guy available for a bit (smoking guy). If you're going to blatantly advertise you're a 24hr roll oasis stop you should probably actually be one or at least make the slightest effort to act like it. read more

I stopped at the Mickie D's in the Belvidere Oasis on a Saturday morning around 9 AM. As one of the few restaurants in the complex open (and being something that's familiar to literally everyone), there was a predictably long line. Things moved fast, however - even with 10+ people in front of me it took maybe five minutes from the time I got in line to the time I got my food. I got what I ordered - a yogurt parfait and a hash brown. The parfait was neatly assembled (and made right there as opposed to being pulled out the fridge, which would be fine, honestly) and the hash brown was hot and cooked perfectly. I know it's not super difficult, but the last hash brown I got a year or two ago was super chewy. The menu did seem more limited than the average McDonald's, but it had the standbys. When you place you order you get a number printed in large font on your receipt. There's a screen hanging over the counter that shows the numbers in order, and when you order is ready it moves into the served column and they also yell out your number. Since there were so many people and it was loud in the area I found this helpful, especially because my number moved into the ready column about five seconds before they yelled it out so I could start making my way to the counter. My small order came in two separate bags with napkins in each - I'm not sure if that's to separate the hot from the cold or because different people assembled the individual parts or some combo thereof. To me it seemed wasteful and unnecessary, but I suppose there are some people who would be upset that a hot hash brown went in the same bag as their cold yogurt. I'm rambling so I'll move along - long story short, this is exactly what you'd expect from a travel-hub McDonald's. read more

This place is a joke. They cannot seem to get an order right for some reason. For instance: orders an iced tea...there was no ice in it. Hello?! Iced Tea. The name says it all... When you order, they do not input it properly. Got a medium drink when I ordered a large. Got onions on my burger when I asked for no onions. If you ask for a replacement they take an attitude with you as though they can't be bothered to fix your order. We stopped here at 1 in the morning on our way back home hoping to grab a quick bite. We ended up spending 20 minutes here because the workers were slow. Sure, there was a little rush going on, but everyone was patient and understanding. I can't say the same about the workers though. The cashier was rude stating there were only the two of them and they couldn't keep up. I was watching them work and they were really taking their time considering how slow it was. I also witnessed the cook use a dirty rag to wipe the counter and then continue to prep the food with the same gloves. I have never been to such a horrible McDonald's. Almost half the things on the menu were not available because they had "no time". If I had known this stop would set me back on my trip, I would've kept driving. read more

OH. MY. GOODNESS. This location DEFINITELY knows how to take the "fast" out of "fast food". It took over a half and hour to order and get our food. No exaggeration. So there were two checkout people and one line formed so people could go to the next available teller. Cool, right? Well it was until random people decided to make their own plan. And until one of the cashiers LEFT. When I was next in line. But by the time the guy was ready for the next person, some random people decided to make another line in his line, so all the people who had been waiting in line for the last 15 minutes got shafted. So we finally got to order. We had two kids' meals and a diet coke (oh, btw, this location doesn't do the any size for $1. Their medium is 1.79 and everything else is really upcharged). It took over 15 minutes to get our food. Chicken nuggets and fries. Very standard. Completely understaffed. very mismanaged. VERY disorganized. read more

Visited McDonald's Restuarant about 4 months ago to get a large cup of coffee. The Restaurant is located at the followng: Belvidere Oasis[20] I-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) 54.5 miles (87.7 km) just east of Rockford, Illinois in Belvidere, IL 42.23343°N 88.834567°W. I received my coffee and headed down the highway. Unknown to me the starfoam cup had a small hole in the bottom of it. Well it caused quite a mess in my car and also on my clothing. It leaked on my car floor carpet and all over my clothes. To make a long story short the cup of coffe costed me over $35 dollars with the clean up. I reported it to McDonald's (800-244-6227) ....... They said someone would get back to me. I never heard a thing from them ..... still waiting 4 months. This sure has changed my opinion on McDonalds .............. I guess when you are a huge corporation WHO CARES someone will always go there. I thought they had better sense. read more

2:45 AM February 3. I went through the drive-through and was told that they only accept cash right now because their computers were down. I told them that is fine as long as I get a receipt. they said they cannot provide a receipt because their computers are down. so we have a McDonald's here taking cash only payments and not providing a receipt in the middle of the night. Stopped for a late night Big Mac wow was it bad rock hard totally stale bun. Stood there a good ten minutes waiting to get this thing two when there was only one guy ahead of me. That's what I get for going late I guess, and NO DOLLAR MENU BOO!!! $8.00 a piece of food that was inedible, garbage to be precise. My husband and I stopped by at this McDonald's at about 6PM this evening ,We had not had a meal in over 24 hours Therefore we were obviously starving. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch salad for each of us. We walk out to the truck, we take a look at our salads and they were literally the saddest salads I've ever seen. We order the chicken bacon ranch salad at least once a week so we know what it's supposed to look like (a whole chicken breast fillet, bacon and a full bowl of spring mix with a few cherry tomatoes) not this time, this time the bowl was half way full and it seemed like they cut a chicken breast in half and split the half in between our salads and as if they had split one bacon strip for both salads. We walked back into McDonald's to tell the cashier who admitted that the salad is supposed to have a full fillet and even laughed at the salad. she informed her manager (who was obviously bothered by us returning) of the situation and manager ordered the kitchen to make only one fillet to split in half for both salads it was at that point that my husband asked for our money back and the manager (very rudely) said "why? I'm not charging you for the chicken?" So even though she didn't want to we ended up getting out money back. Overall a very unpleasant experience the manager seems to be the most incompetent manager I've ever met. read more

I believe this is supposed to be the McDonalds at Belvidere Oasis on I-90 near Rockford. The Belvidere Oasis is built on an overpass, and there are a dozen or so businesses inside-- Starbucks, McDonalds, etc. However, it used to be only a McDonalds. I was in Mc Donald last night and I was disappointed by the food and the customer service .

Traveling from Pennsylvania to Iowa in the middle of a bad snowstorm, we decided to take a break and get a bite to eat. My wife went to panda express while my kids and I went to McDonalds. When the "so called" manager gave me our tray of food I asked for some salt, ketchup, and mustard packets. She rolled her eyes and said with an attitude, "How many". I told her that she needed to be more polite, and she repeated it with even more of an attitude. It was so bad that my 12 year old daughter went over to Panda Express and told my wife that the lady at the counter was being extremely rude. I told the lady I would like six of each, to which she put 6 mustard and salt in the bag. I asked about the ketchup and she said she already put it in there. I asked if there were six, and she very angrily said, "I don't know! I put a handful in there!". My son has Autism and if he doesn't get a specific number of ketchup packets it becomes a problem for him and he will not eat. So I asked the lady's name and her district managers name and phone number and she refused to give me that information. To make matters worse, my burger was made wrong , the meat was still pink and it was sopping with grease. I sent it back and they gave me a new one. The second one was made right, but there was so much grease that the bun was soaked and there was about an ounce of grease in the bottom of the container running through it like a river. I sent that one back as well. They gave me a third one and it was just as greasy, but I just had to eat it because we needed to get back on the road and continue our journey. They are a regular McDonalds. Slow when it's busy, fast when there's little to no people. They have issues from time to time with computers going down, drink machines not working, and other things that are not in tip-top shape, but most of the time everything works and everything is standard. They have an upcharge for their food, which kind-of sucks, but just down the road are other McDonalds if it is that big of a deal. They rarely ever get orders wrong and are generally like any other McDonalds, besides the upcharge. read more

When we travel to Illinois, this is the oasis that we stop at and the McDonald's here yesterday had the ABSOLUTE best coffee! Rarely do I find an inexpensive great cup of coffee. BUT I had to go back twice to the counter because I hadn't received my whole order....very busy place. read more
