A lady next to me said mine is perfect. Then I noticed she had the breaded chicken sandwich. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was press formed and flaked chicken, nasty stuff. The fries I liked, hence the one star. The place was mostly clean. I say that because two tables over sat a bottle of cleaner and a rag. It sat there the while we dined. Oh, and by the way, just a suggestion. If a customer is standing back by the napkin bar looking up at the menu, they are not ready to order, so give it a rest.

I was greeted by the counter staff as soon as I entered the front door. This location is sparkly clean with lots and lots of seating in a style reminiscent of a 50's diner, including old timey photos of the founding family. My double burger combo with American cheese, all you can eat fresh cut fries and a fountain drink was a little under $16. These days that's a bargain- and because they serve you fries BEFORE your burger hits your table, I couldn't even finish my double cheeseburger. My burger arrived hot and juicy and I needed to let 'er cool off a bit before attempting a bite. Lots of juice in this burger and it's well seasoned with salt and black pepper. Top offs of fries were offered regularly to which I had to decline. David's also sells beef, such as steaks, roasts and mixed boxes of beef and cuts of chicken at a very reasonable price supposedly sourced in Arkansas. Right now as long as you're coming from the west you can drive directly to the restaurant before the road is closed for construction (7/2026). The eggs ordered over medium were just a bit overcooked but we wanted to be sure the whites were fully done. My wife especially liked the cure on the bacon. Our server was prompt, friendly and attentive. She did a great job. It was interesting seeing how the original restaurant was converted rail cars and later expanded into what they have today.
