Ok, I usually give a place a chance, if it's bad one time I wait awhile and go back to see if it was just an off day, or bad service, this McDonald's service is just bad, and that's a shame because about 3 months ago it was good, I go to Athens about once a month with my mom and the kids, and would stop and grab a small meal, the last 2 months have been awful, service is horrible, food is cold, and isn't fresh. First, when you're dealing with people though a speaker, you should speak loud enough for an older person to hear you and speak clearly, seems all these people mumble or speak so low you can't hear them, and the employees at this location seemed to be more interested in talking and goofing around than filling orders, we sat at the window and I watched the employee making drinks, stand and talk while the ice melted in every drink sitting on the counter, my drink had no ice in it when I got it, and the car in front of us was still waiting for it's order. The food was stone cold, the fries were over done and dark brown, the bread on the burgers was stale and dry, like it had been sitting out, and this was the 2nd time the service and food was bad, I don't know what the heck happened to this location, I'm guessing a different manager, because the whole staff seems to be incapable of serving fresh food, or providing adequate service, and the shame of it is, we have been stopping at this location for almost 2 years now, but I won't be wasting money at this place anymore. read more

I met my parents and my nieces (ages 2 and 5) here for supper one late afternoon or early evening. The kids could play in the play area, which wasn't too crowded or too lonely. There is also a more toddler-friendly area for ages 3 and under. The eating area of the restaurant is also nicely updated, and they even have one of those touch-screen soda fountain dispensers that I used to only see at Firehouse Subs. The restrooms have 2 stalls, one of them disability access, and it also has a Koala Kare changing table. They were also well-maintained. I like that they serve breakfast all day. Woohoo! I got an Egg McMuffin, but remembered to specifically ask for the meatless version of it, so that it will be vegetarian-friendly. I wonder if someday, McDonalds will add a veggie burger or veggie patty to their ever-growing menu. They have come a long way in the past 20 years. I would stop here again! read more

The nastiest chicken Biscuit I have ever had charged 14 dollars for 2 Biscuits and they were so brown from old grease horrible food.

This McDonald's is relatively quick even with a crowd. The problem is that whenever I come here and get a drink I have some very uncomfortable stomach reactions. This only happens with this McDonald's location so I'm thinking it's something wrong with the product from this store. read more

The service is extremely slow in the afternoon hours. The morning service is much better. Now that they have the two lines you can rarely get service in order of who arrives. I have left multiple times now just because I sat at the speaker for way too long trying to get serviced only to have the next person that comes in gets service before me. Lately (3 visits), my food has been undercooked or not at all- just raw! Sorry, I draw the line at eating raw food. I am literally standing in this McDonald's right now waiting on my order and writing this review. I used the computer to order and pay for my food. I got the receipt and thought I needed to hand it to the girl working the counter, but apparently I don't. But instead of having decent customer service and telling me something like "Your order is already complete ma'am, have a nice day." She decided to just snap at me "I don't need that!" This is without a doubt one of the slowest McDonalds in the history of the franchise. To say this is a fast food restaurant is deceptive to say the least. I have eaten at this unit for 20 years and they maintained a one star rating throughout that time period. One thing you can say for them is they are consistent. The most recent issue I had was with a specialty burger that can out. I saw it on the Super Bowl commercial and thought I would give it a try. I ordered a double quarter pounder with cheese meal and my burger literally had one pickle on it... one pickle on an entire double quarter pounder? Is this really what we are allowing to be acceptable? This is ridiculous and this is not the only time this has happened. I can't give this restaurant any lower of a rating. I'm thoroughly disappointed in the level of customer care displayed by this establishment. I came through during the early hours at around 5:30 A.M. to order breakfast before the hunt. Upon coming through the drive through, I was not greeted in any way or form and found it impossible to get the attention of anyone inside the building. No big deal right? I'll pull up to the window to hail the attention of anyone inside and order there. As I arrived to the window, there was no one in sight, and I could hear hip hop music BLARING inside over the sound of my own car stereo. The music was anything but representative of the kind of image that McDonalds would allow to be associated with their personal image, and contained lyrics which I'll not repeat here. After several persistent moments of honking my horn to gain the attention of anyone inside, and knocking on the glass, I still had no answer. However, one answer is clear enough. We have visited this location (Athens) more times than we could count. There was a time when the choices for fast food in Athens was fairly limited, but now there are so many more choices we'll have to branch out. They continue to decline on keeping the restaurant clean, the lids, straws, etc stocked in their "self-serve" area. Today was the worst that we've seen it, customers were cleaning off tables and serving counters because they were forced to. I informed the staff multiple times about the drink area being out of things. There was a large puddle of water in front of the drink machine that never got the attention of anyone while we were there. I hope that management gets it and changes the habits of their staff. My grand-daughters gonna miss coming here, but if its not clean then it could help transmit diseases, the flu has exploded in the area. Ouch, just saw a child slip on that puddle of water. read more

My family and I have never been more disrespected by an employee, apart of management at that! First our order was given to the people who ordered right before us, by the manager/shift leader or whatever she was, only after we took our receipt up there, which was not given back to me, did she even notice. I immediately felt that she became irritated, had them to redo our order, then, as we were just about done, with our meal, she proceeds to come to our table, and inform us (with attitude, all in her voice and posture), "that she called our number, and they walked up and grabbed our order (what was the point in the gps number?), that they are human, and make mistakes (understandable), but all I can do is come and tell yall what happen", and walked way... That was not the appropriate way to handle the situation, it was not our fault that SHE, A PERSON OF MANAGEMENT, gave our order away, did she expect us to pay $30 for 4 drinks, and be happy with that, because the food that was paid for was given away to someone else? So we were suppose to do without? A simple apology, would have done... but instead, we get disrespected, and that is unexceptable! read more
