CARE FROM THE DOCTOR After an extremely long labour I ended…read moreup with a c-section, which, lucky for me, was performed by the very talented and sweet Dr. Sarah Halleran (the OBGYN on call at that hour.) Despite it being the middle of the night, and faced with the ridiculous questions that only sleep-deprived delirious people can contrive, Dr. Halleran patiently reassured us, answered all of our questions, and even had us laughing, as we ventured into the unknown! The surgery was as fantastic as surgery can be - Numerous professionals have commented on how great my scar looks and she finally got the baby out! I have nothing but positive things to say about this individual doctor, who I have since seen in follow-up and been equally impressed with then as well. She gets six stars, without a doubt! THE CLINIC OVERALL However, as for the clinic itself, I'm waffling between a one and two. My need for follow-up appointments made it blatantly clear that there are issues when it comes to booking on the phone. I've waited on hold long enough to hang up and schedule an appointment my family doctor instead. Additionally the office is closed for lunch and I've noted on several occasions that there is a significant delay in getting back to the phones afterward. In short, these challenges have turned me away, despite how amazingly wonderful the care is after the fact. SOME OTHER THINGS WORTH NOTING *If you're coming with your little one, the rooms are too small to accommodate strollers (especially a jogging stroller) and you'll need to leave them in the reception area. Nurses are more than happy to hold babies while you're being seen if you so desire. *The washroom in the hall requires a code for entry - it's posted at the reception desk. *Be sure to see the correct receptionist at the desk - There are printed signs indicating the doctors scheduled by each one. (Don't wait in the wrong line.)

Update... after the initial call (where I was on hold for over 2 hours), my call actually got…read moredisconnected. I also got a 15 dollar phone bill due to over usage. Lesson learned- I will not stay on hold for any business for more than 5-10 minutes. It's really quite ridiculous- why not have a machine service for things like appointment confirmation? I called my family doc (who had referred me) to complain, and they said they were aware of the issue- that they had had several complaints as well. If you can - stay away from this clinic- for the phone service (lack of) alone. I feel horrible for anyone who is actually very ill/has a serious condition and would need to put up with this B.S just to try and confirm an appointment. This clinic needs to get their act together.

Just an FYI for all the uterus owners who are looking to try out Nexplanon - you can get an…read moreinsertion here. Nexplanon has only been available in Canada for about a year and this is one of the only clinics offering insertion in the Edmonton area. I'm super excited to try this new form of birth control. I've had an IUD for 10 years and I wasn't in the headspace to commit to another one, so this seemed like a good option for me. I was very happy with my appointment this afternoon. I have had weird experiences with Doctors and wanted someone who I could talk to and actually treated me like a human being. I saw Dr. Ioana Solomon and she took me through everything I needed to know about Nexplanon. The insertion literally took 5 minutes. You don't feel anything it is completely painless. It is a small stick about 3 inches long that is inserted in the arm of your non-dominant hand. They freeze your arm before and you feel nothing. I cannot tell you the relief I felt to have such a painless and anxiety-free option. I am very grateful this small practice offers this service. I was also treated like a human being! After having experienced some medical trauma early in the year I was very thankful for the experience Dr. Solomon gave me. Being a Dr is so much more than just medical/science stuff it is also about making your patients feel SAFE and cared for. So thanks to her. This clinic is a very interesting small clinic that offers women's health treatments. Of course, it is LGBTQIA2S+ friendly so not just women, but all humans with these types of needs. I saw some rainbow flags in the waiting room. They have uterus wall art which was a big highlight for me. I'm not sure who the artist was but there were a few depictions of uteruses (uteri? lol) that included flowers, space, designs, etc. I would definitely hang them in my house!

I would leave a zero star review for this clinic if I could. I was referred to this clinic by my…read moreprimary care physician for an ovarian surgery procedure I need done. When they contacted me to tell me my case had been assigned, they informed me that the gynaecologist who was going to be my doctor was a man. I have severe CPTSD, which is related to trauma from men. So I requested a woman for my doctor instead. They not only refused to change my case over to one of their multitude of other woman physicians, they told me that if I wanted to wait until one became available, they would simply reject my case altogether, and refuse to treat me. I spoke to both their receptionist, and the office manager. Both echoed the exact same sentiment, and one went so far as to call me "ridiculous" for request a woman physician, due to my CPTSD, and tried to frighten me by using scare tactics regarding my medical condition(which is benign) in order to pressure me into accepting the physician they had assigned to my case, and laughed at me when I informed her that it was my legally protected right as a Canadian citizen to choose a physician I am comfortable with. I would never, ever even consider recommending this clinic to anyone, and would strongly encourage any woman to avoid it at all costs. What an absolutely deplorable, and unprofessional medical facility, and this is speaking as someone who was raised in a family with medical backgrounds. This clinic should not be in business.

The worst... So rude…read more.. If you have to reschedule more than once you are dropped as a patient. if you don't confirm your appointment you get cancelled and then dropped as a patient. Stay away... if their physicians are as bad as reception you could be in trouble!
