Not everything some of the larger "men's malls" in the area have but they have a huge distinct advantage: their name is not Ace Hardware, a place I refuse to visit where you can literally undress and run naked up and down the isles without the chance of ever being spotted by a customer service rep. This place is expensive and has little hardware, so if you think they might have everything Home Depot has, forget it. They do have a large variety of lumber, hence the name, but their website sucks. When I searched "plywood, I got everything but plywood: 2x6, 2x4, 2x8, etc., etc, but ZERO PLYWOOD. Their customer service is sketchy at best. I have received good service and terrible service, with cocky service reps that think if you are not a contractor or hardware/lumber expert, then you should be talked down to. Finally, being a Sunday, you would think a store like this would be open because most home DIY projects are done on the weekend ... NOT OPEN ON SUNDAY! This place has the worst customer service ever! I'm shocked there aren't more bad reviews on yelp. I have only personally been to this place one time, several years ago, to inquire about stair railing spindles. They basically ignored me since I wasn't a contractor so I ended up leaving since they didn't want to help me. My husband has unfortunately had to order specialty wood pieces from them about a dozen times in the past year since they were the only option for what he needed. And I swear every time they get it wrong. Almost every time he placed an order they would tell him it would be ready in a few days which always turned into a few weeks. They would call and say it was ready but when he'd get there they wouldn't have it and would have to reorder it. This happened multiple times. They are incompetent and could generally care less about providing anything close to good customer service. It's possible they provide better service to contractors, but for the general homeowner they do not. Maybe they should post a sign saying they only serve contractors and are not open to the general public because basically that's what they are. read more

Willie replaced our two sidelights by our front door. He was very courteous, professional and experienced. He took time to explain the process and cleaned the windows once he was finished. He kept the inside of our home clean and cleaned up afterwards. We would definitely request him for any service on our windows!! read more

I am a small time builder and DIY'er, doing projects for friends and folks in my church. I routinely use the orange box or Menards but I often can't find the lumber in the dimensions I need. I am currently building a deck with a newer aluminum product and needed really straight, clean material for the framing and exterior. This was my first time at McCray. The sales staff was very good and helpful, the guys in the yard picked out some really good stock and it was delivered on time in the snow.
