I stop at the Garden Center of Gypsum every year when I travel from Denver to Grand Junction. I…read morelove this little gem of a place! They always have a great selection of unique high quality annuals. There was one really sad yarrow left. It had been eaten by deer and not looking so happy. When I went to the counter to pay I asked the young lady if she could offer a discount for the plant. She said sure maybe a little discount. In the meantime a man who appeared to be the owner arrived at the counter. She asked him if they could take a little off since the plant was not well. He abruptly and in a very ugly and rude tone sad to me," No, if you don't like it, don't buy it!l". My reaction, "Wow!" So much for customer service and common courtesy to speak to a patron with respect. I was appalled by his abruptness, so was the girl. There are plenty of lovely nurseries in our valley and an awesome one in Basalt that has a beautiful sectional of perennials and garden treats. It would be worth while to make the trip to be treated with kindness and respect. Go somewhere where they appreciate your business,no matter how big or small your purchase.
