Great employees and very helpful. Great selection of plant materials for our area. Unique plants you will rarely find anywhere else.

Nice nursery. Lots of plants, excellent staff and decent prices. It's my favorite place to shop on Tuesdays.

I had a challenging day yesterday, yet needed some supplies to make a headpiece for a little girl who is celebrating a life ritual today. I walked into Susan's Flower and Gifts and found Jody Ensign behind the cash register, she pointed me to the back and Lynn and another woman ( I am sorry I didn't get your name) were working hard fulfilling a wedding order. They stopped what they were doing to give me the small supplies and even contributed some beautiful flowers for the garland. I then went up to choose a piece of comfort chocolate and Jody gave me a piece. As I opened my wallet she said, "No charge Sheri. I hope you have a better day." Omgosh, did I have a better day? YES, I left with tears in my eyes because I was reminded of the beautiful friends I have made here and the deep roots that run between those of us who found are way home to Carbondale so many moons ago. Thank you to the awesome women at Susan's it's the little things that are the BIG things. And to owner Susan, thank YOU for all you do to bring beauty to our lives and events. I know how hard you work every day. I'll see ya at the barn. With appreciation, Sheri Gaynor

Our family went in to shop and my 4 1/2 year old picked up one of those little plastic snow globe type things and shook it to see the glitter fly around. He felt something wet and "Pokey" on it and panicked and dropped it. It shattered the floor. My husband apologized and so did my son to the front staff and asked for supplies to clean it which we did. My son apologized and tried to explain what happened. We thought that was the end of it but when the 6 of us were checking out with all our stuff I noticed my total amount was much higher than my math and so I asked the prices again. She said (right in front of my son) "The price is correct but he broke something so you'll be paying for it". To say that her demeanor was professional or kind would be a MAJOR stretch. My son of course becomes upset. I can completely understand that if people go in and break things even by accident a shop has every legal right to make sure it is paid for however this item was defective when he picked it up. We were lucky it didn't cut him. To sneak it into my purchase without a word and then be rude to a 4 year old is just gross. My husband ended up paying for it and we left the other 10 items behind. I will never return and will never recommend this shop to anyone after this.

After enlightening & encouraging chit chats with both Lynn & Vickie inside, Vickie gave me a tour outside of her husband, Rex Branson's, and her art work, which I found beautiful & fascinating. I asked if I could take pictures, and got their business card, then found them online later. Inquired if/how they deliver, and they do & can! And they can guide me as to all the equipment I'd need on the other end to receive such a huge, heavy piece of beautiful white marble art work, hopefully / potentially one day for my dad's, now my, house in Denver, in our backyard, as a heartfelt tribute to my dad & our journey here. Per Wikipedia, the white marble from this historic quarry has been used in Washington, D.C., for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (important to me, given my dad was a Vietnam Veteran, and my grandfather a WWII Veteran) and the Washington Monument. It's also been used in equally important cities to my dad & me: San Francisco and New York City. Absolutely loved meeting & chatting with Lynn & Vickie yesterday, as it was exactly what I needed, and the purpose for this mountain trip! To remind me of my roots, and to help me fall back in love with my home state of Colorado. I had so many questions for Vickie about how they carve marble into round, smooth shapes, and she invited me back to watch them make art in July. I can't wait to return next summer!
