We used McCormick travel for our honeymoon in 2010 at the Snellville location. It was wonderful. We felt like the travel agent knew what we wanted and we trusted her. The resort we ended up going to was perfect- she got it. She took care of us. She listened. And we had the most amazing vacation.
This past year we went to McCormick in Kennesaw. We will NOT ever go there again. The woman we worked with there didn't really listen. I felt like she just kept sending us options but I don't think she listened to us. From the start we wanted 8 days and we said that was firm. (we need a day to chill out from travel) All the dates she sent were for 8. When we realized the dates we wanted along with the room weren't available we we going to opt for October. All of a sudden the room we wanted was available. We didn't check the number of days since we were firm. An hour after we dropped 4k we realized it was for 7 days. This may sound trivial but its about customer service-we were pissed.
We moved on, the next thing we stressed was the need for quiet. We got a room called the atrium at the resort. No tv, overlooked lush landscape however, it was never mentioned there weren't walls nor was it glassed in legit just shutters. This is something I wish she told us, the first night we were up for hours listening to the resorts club, the next day we heard the guy down stairs vomit all freaking night. We were able to switch rooms to an ocean from on day 3 (dropping an additional $300 to do this) but we spent day 3 sleeping the entire day because we got no sleep the first two days. So three days were a wash.
I get this resort has great reviews but we wanted romance, honeymoon style atmosphere- I mean we opted for a room with no freaking tv. I think an informed agent would have said, yes this is a great resort but if you are looking for quiet, intimate environment this may not be the place for you.
When we returned I wrote to her my disappointments. Rather then a apology, or any concern I got a long email writing about how we were equal to blame. THIS pissed me off.
We will NOT return. read more
