I really love this place because of the people who shop here and the people who work here. This is a very small store....in the mountains. Yet they have a surprisingly good selection of a lot of this things. Very good beer, huge selection of wine, lots of fresh coffee beans to choose from, lots of canned tomatoes...Seriously. A ton of canned tomato. In ALL varieties. Odd. Good variety of a lot of things. I have never been in this store with out being drunk or having a hangover. The workers and shoppers are real cool with it too. The women who work there. I don't mean this in a mean way but they all look the same. Long dirty blonde hair, black eyeliner and a genuine tired smile. It was hard getting them right. They've got a dark sense of humor about working at the market that I just love. Super nice, friendly. We were passing through this little town and were happy to find a well-stocked local market with a surprisingly good selection. Unfortunately, the customer service felt unwelcoming. I waited in line while the cashier continued talking with a customer whose transaction was already finished, without acknowledging that I was waiting. I then went to the next line over, and there was no greeting--the cashier only asked, "Do you want a bag?" Overall, the store itself is convenient and has a great selection. read more

We've been working in the area since May. I've popped into the store a couple times to pick up a few things. I will say some things are priced high, but you are in a small area. But overall, the prices are pretty competitive. It's like anything you need to watch what you buy. We bought a tri-tip there for $7.99 a pound, which is a very good price and it honestly was the best tri-tip we'd ever had. The people there are very friendly very helpful. The store is clean!!! I read a review that the macaroni salad was the best and it did not let me down. We've been buying more and more of our groceries there for convenience. I like shopping here better than Mount Shasta. And with the price of gas, it's cheaper to buy Local. read more

This market is basically a grocery store. They had vegetables and meat. It's what you would expect from this area. The service was fine and the place wasn't crowded. It's convenient since there isn't anything else around. Just don't expect it to have artisanal cheeses, etc . read more

Stayed in Mccloud for the week to visit family, this place was definitely a life saver compared to having to go all the way to redding or mount shasta. A little over priced but I get your paying for the convenience. Best mac salad I ever had from their deli. read more

I love McCloud Market. It's a small independent grocery store that manages to have everything I need every time. Besides the milk and eggs, they have all the important stuff like beer from Mt. Shasta Brewing Company, ice and Crystal hot sauce. (Bacon and eggs breakfast isn't worth the effort without it - might as well eat cereal.) McCloud Market is getting five stars from me because it's perfect the way it is. 1) It's not gourmet. 2) You can ask them where something is three times and they'll still be pleasant. (hangover awareness) 3) They don't ask you for your phone number at the checkout and then butcher your last name. 4) The staff are super friendly in an easy going way. Not in a corporate-clone way. I've been meaning to get some meat for the BBQ from MM. It looked really good. The women from our tribe keep bringing meat from Windsor to the cabin (no spontaneity) . Next time. The Mt. McCloud Market is a cute little country market; it's not Safeway, but you can find just about any basic groceries you may need (plus then, it's not so big that you feel lost!) I liked the casual atmosphere and the friendly staff. They had a pretty decent alcohol aisle for a smaller grocery store, and their McCloud souvenir t-shirt rack cracked me up. read more

This is the best place! Maybe a little pricey, but that is understandable given the remote location, and at that, it was still a great experience going in. Well stocked like a true general store, from fruit to camping logs. Even though no staff spoke with us except the register cashier, who didn't smile but was very open and friendly nevertheless, this store has a little of everything, including Unsweetened Silk Soymilk! We were really surprised and delighted since we will not purchase anything but the unsweetened which can be a challenge to find, and want to thank them publicly for stocking that. In addition, it was amazing to peruse and find all sorts of goodies ranging from recent food market introductions (Milkadamia) to good oldies (think Frito Lay Corn Chips). We would love to have seen some sort of gluten free cookies, but that's for next year when we visit... Much love and support for this compact and powerful market! read more

Great place - fresh and varied produce items including fresh basil, a fine liquor department, broad selection of craft beers including cans and a surprisingly great butcher department. Tellingly, every can and package is perfectly aligned and the floor polished within an inch of its life. Special shout-out for the Western house brands as well - their faux Grape Nuts are indistinguishable from the real thing at a fraction of the price. Staff? Friendly beyond all expectations.
