McCarthy Square is a great park recommended to me by a friend in California. She used to live here. It's noted for its bird houses. I need to go back to Greenwich Village to get more photos. I sure enjoy this park and I highly recommend it to visitors when you're in the neighborhood. It's a nice place to sit to rest and eat a snack or bring your lunch.
In 1943 the City Council named this site in memory of Private First Class Bernard Joseph McCarthy. McCarthy was born and raised in Greenwich Village. This is a great memorial for such a young man. read more
