Very shady. We were…read moretold that the notary fee was just the $60. That's all they mentioned before starting to process the transaction. Only $72 of the $158 total was PennDOT fees. $80.70 in notary fees for title transfer only. They also didn't mention the $5.30 "Vitu" (processing) fee. This brings the total for their services completely outside of PennDOT for title transfer only as a gift to $86.00 $86 in fees. Only $72 of the $158 total was to PennDOT. Total rip-off.

Sometimes you have to wonder where our tax dollars really go??? Anyway, a sweet lady named Kim helped me. She quickly fixed my problem and apologized on behalf of the state. She spent time explaining all the perks of their credit card to me. Once I pay off my others I will definitely be switching to this one. I also now know that I can plan a vacation and there are multiple payment plans. This is the type of customer service so many companies are lacking now a days. Went in on lunch hour with the 10 people who all wanted to go on cruise and met Sandra. Literally the definition of clueless and not wanting to help. Said she had to call the Pittsburgh office, waited for a half an hour - finally she connected with someone who told her she had to send an email to the Pittsburgh travel team. Sandra promised a response back within 3 days. We are now at two weeks and still haven't heard anything - missed out on a 10k sale as we all booked through a private travel agent. AAA is worse than the DMV, the people that work there don't care at all.

I went to her office thinking I had all the necessary papers, and then discovered I was missing the title. While I searched for it in the glove box (spoiler: it wasn't in there), she went to my former state's DMV site and started filling out the request for a duplicate title "just in case." She printed it out for me and gave me excellent advice on what to do while I was waiting to get the duplicate titled mailed to me. Her excellent service continued when I was finally able to return with all the needed documents in hand, plus the cash payment. For all PennDOT transactions, it's cash only. She even lent me a screwdriver to put my PA plate on the car immediately. As Notary Now Plus is a one-person operation, you may need to wait. There is a small waiting area, with no TV or Muzak blaring. Soft drinks are available at a reasonable price; she also stocks envelopes of various sizes, which is a thoughtful touch and again, very reasonably priced. Barbara's very professional and also empathetic. I was actually looking forward to my second trip, to complete the transaction. Compared to other estimates I received for the service, her fee is very reasonable, and her exceptional customer service adds even more value. I can't imagine any other business outdoing Notary Now Plus for service and value.
