I've used Lawn Care Plus every couple of years for almost 10 years when there's a larger project to do than I can tackle myself. They've brought in yards of loam and leveled / reseeded parts of our yard, always with great results. They've aerated our yard every 1-2 years, despite it being a small standalone job some years. They've removed a diseased tree. They helped remove an old paver patio, neatly stacked the old pavers, and prepared the soil for new grass. Always with great responsiveness, professionalism, and value for the price. As I told Tim this week, they've got a very satisfied customer!

But they did an excellent job in our inherited yard that looked like it hadn't been touched in years, for a reasonable price- got rid of all the chaotic overgrowth, trimmed down the trees and bushes to a manageable length, made the grounds look probably as nicest as they ever had. The before and after were like night and day, only took the better part of a day to complete, and we're now actually proud of this yard and look forward to using it They were easy to use, easy to pay, easy to work with- we have no reservations about hiring them again when springtime rolls around, and can see using their services regularly for years to come.

After several failed attempt to fix up our pudding-stone-filled garden with mixed elevation, my…read morewife and I were introduced to Noah and the Restoring Roots crew. We have seen their previous project at the Old Oak Dojo and really liked the idea of a functional landscape that meet aesthetic purpose, yield edibles as well as fitting in the native eco system. Noah is very knowledgeable of different plants and flowers so conversation with him has always been very educational for us amateur gardeners. He has also been very accommodating from the consultation. He listened to our needs and concerns before coming up with a customized plan that fits our property and budget. The project includes a low dry-stack retaining wall, plants that would help stabilizing the soils since we live on a hill, perennial flowers/plants that support each other and blooms at different time, and irrigation etc. The installation was under a short deadline so that we can have our wish of throwing a post-wedding party in our yard. Noah, Cheryl, and Karen moved very efficiently and accomplished the project before the deadline and within budget. The project also includes post-installation maintenance as the first year is crucial for the garden to survive. We are very happy to find Restoring Roots and will definitely consider using them for future projects.

We bought a condo in the Woodburne neigborhood of Jamaica Plain a year ago. One of our first…read morepriorties after we moved in was to deal with the backyard landscape, which consisted of some scraggly grass patches and a few hostas. There wasn't a lot of space to work with but I was sure that a little patio would fit between the house and the garage. I started contacting landscape design and build firms in March 2015. Most larger firms were already booked for spring, and when a couple of firms came out in June, they indicated that our job was too small for them to consider. Our realtor recommended Restoring Roots. From the first visit Karen was enthusiastic about the possibilities for our little space. She listened to our concerns and needs--one of the biggest concerns being that as new home owners facing a lot of projects, we wanted to consider a design plan that we could implement in stages. Karen came back to us with a detailed and comprehensive plan for our little space. After multiple negotiations with our condo association, we decided to move ahead with the patio construction in the fall and put the planting and construction of a sitting wall on hold until Spring. The bluestone patio was completed right before Thanksgiving. We are very impressed with the quality of the work and we think the patio looks great! We hope to have Restoring Roots back in the Spring for the next phase of the project.

Not only are they completely careless, but they will destroy your flowers and lawn. they constantly trample and destroy flower beds, hack away beautiful plants with the weed wacker, break pots, knock over rain barrels and destroy gutters in the process, and leave a trail of cigarette butts and other litter. DO NOT USE this group if you want quality. They really are terrible service.

The absolute WORST business I've ever dealt with. We paid them to do snow removal for a 5 car…read moreparking lot and driveway, and the first two snowstorms we had this season were done perfectly. The next two, without any level of communication, they decided to only plow out one of our five spaces. We called them to come back and clear out the rest (by this point the snow was mostly solidified instead of the nice, fluffy snow it was when it fell). They charged us $170 to come back and plow more, and then $250 to use a bobcat. They didn't even plow out more than half of a spot! As I write this, we STILL only have space for barely 2 cars back there, and the driveway is a sheet of ice, so cars that get parked down there pretty much have to stay until the driveway thaws out. Mind you, we have a gigantic open lot where the snow should have been pushed, and was pushed in the past. I called to inquire about the charges, and the guy essentially told me that because we asked them to clear out the rest of the spaces, which THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO ANYWAY, they charged us for it, because they won't give us "free labor." Hello, we weren't asking you for free labor, we were asking you to FIX THE JOB you INCORRECTLY did last time! Then he said "I know what place you're talking about, we cleared out your place! I can show you the work that we did." Really, sir? I live there. I am there every day. I can see the 5 feet of snow that cover the other 3 parking spots. I tried talking calmly to him, and when I said "you guys did a shit job," he flipped his lid, told me he doesn't want to talk to me anymore, and hung up on me. I had apologized for cursing, as I tend to forget that people don't use curse words as a part of their daily vocabulary (I work in a hazmat firm, we curse like sailors here), and yet he still hung up on me. I called him back and calmly said that I had apologized and just wanted to understand the charges and explain why I felt they were unfair, and he went off about how he doesn't want to deal with someone who "doesn't know how to talk," and that at least HE knows how to talk (yeah, right, we wouldn't be having this problem if he knew how to talk). Then he hung up on me AGAIN. So I called back a third time to attempt to explain what my issue was, and finally he agreed to talk. I explained to him the exact same thing, and his response was all over the place. He told me he was astonished that "how dare you call to complain about the snow removal," and told me that he's doing us a favor by "not charging us as much as everyone else." I'd rather pay more money for a CLEAR LOT and a USABLE DRIVEWAY than pay less for shit service, shoddy communication, and a back lot I won't be able to use until the snow melts. Eventually I told him we'll be taking our services elsewhere because of how awful of a business he is running, and as I hung up I, of course, told him to go fuck himself. No need to take the high road with an unprofessional, petty person.
