Bought some prepared dishes and one package was with the next day expiry within the whole bunch of other three days expiry date. A bit disappointed, but not too bad here. Great eggs prices. read more

It was last Sunday, the folks called, 'Annie we are on our way we decided to surprise you for Sunday dinner.' Which translates as, 'Annie we are on our way to snoop around your apartment and to see if you care enough to cook us Sunday dinner.' I woke with my pillow stuck to my hungover face when the text woke me. Stuffing the party paraphernalia of the night before in the washing machine in haze whilst sleeping bodies twitched at my feet. Once the clean up was done, the dinner panic ensued, this butchers signage welcomed me in. Once the butchers stopped laughing at me, they picked out the best cut of meat to cut in a hurry, they even told me the best temperature to put it at. Best of all they are cheap, I'm all about the cheap. The result was the folks loved it and believe that I am a well adjusted adult.
This is a fantastic butcher. Always have a great selection of meats including some more rare…read moreproducts (excuse the pun). For example, on Fridays they get in these deliciously tender venison medallions in. They are so good that they are usually gone that evening. They do lots of deals for buying protein in bulk and have lots of other deals on everything from chicken fillets to steaks. The guy who runs the place is lovely as well. He is always ready and willing to give advice and recomendations on their meats.

The shop is very clean and the food looks very fresh and hygienic which is very important in this day and age. Wandering around Dublin while on holiday and we stumbled across this palace of meat, the saddest…read morething is we were unable to take anything home to throw on the BBQ because we were staying at a hotel, but the prices looked very reasonable, their breakfast special for €9 was a steal... 8 sausages 1 lb Black Rasher 1/2 Black Pudding 1/2 White Pudding 6 Eggs Meat, Fish, Poultry pretty much any cut or meat you are looking for was available, and while there was some disappointment that we couldn't throw some on the BBQ it was short lived when I discovered that they have several excellent restaurants in Dublin If you can't take it home, it is lovely to look at and you can eat some tasty Irish Beef in one of their fine restaurants or one of the many of the other fine restaurants in the city
There's more than a few butchers to pick from on Moore Street, but with FX Buckley's on the corner,…read morethere seems to be just one choice. Bigger, well stocked and thriving, FX Buckley's on Moore street is one of the last old timers still open in this traditional green market street. Just off Henry street and taking up three huge shop fronts Buckley's is cornering the market on speciality, traditional and every day meats. There's rashers and loops of pudding, sides of beef and shoulders of lamb. Over the summer I was a religious weekly visitor, snapping up their chicken fillet deal of 10 for €9.99 (while steering well clear of that case of tripe, livers and hearts). Things can get busy during the day so expect to queue for a few minutes while the missus ahead of you gets her week's order of steak mince. As in any good butchers, the white-coated professionals here are happy to dispense a bit of butcherly advice on cooking your purchase or if it's right for the recipe you're planning on!

Well, the latter was obviously a joke but I loved it nonetheless and the fact that this place is so close to my house. All the meat here is Irish and from some lovely green island off the coast of some county I already forgot. For 3 rump steaks and 2 chicken breasts I paid a tenner and left happy and with a promise to return soon.

As mentioned by other reviewer, they have oil and eggs, which is very handy for locals there, I suppose. My own local butchers are cheaper, but with less options, that's why they are cheaper.

It's absolutely fantastic for meat of all kinds, whether you're buying prepared (homemade burgers, stuffed pork steaks, chicken), marinaded (they do a few different marinaded meats for either barbeque or stir fry) or just plain meat in all its glory, from hefty T Bones through to fillets of beef or legs of lamb. It's all local (from their farm), delicious, and delivered to you with a plethora of advice, commentary and gags from both the staff and the always-entertaining queue of people (if you want a slice of real Dublin life, stand in the queue on a Saturday morning and listen to the banter in there). They also do some cracking flavored sausages, and now even sell eggs, oils, marinades and a few other things. Brilliant place.

The aroma wafts out and I stumble in only to emerge laden down with meat I didn't know I wanted/needed. Nothing like a friendly local butcher to make you more carniverous!
