Decent sit down deli that has some good sandwich, baked potato, soup, and salad options. Price is on par with Panera but the lines here are shorter and the customer service is much friendlier. You can get good lunch deals by picking two from the salad, sandwich, soups, or potato options. They bake their cookies daily. We tried their baked potato with cheese (can't really mess up a baked potato) an herb chicken sandwich on croissant (wish the chicken was a single piece vs tiny chunks of chicken that fell out of the sandwich), and chowder soup (decent and hearty). Food was good and made to order but nothing spectacular. They do have plenty of seating and can accommodate large groups. The worst customer service I've experienced in quite some time. While placing my order, the woman at the register voiced her complaints (unsolicited) at people that put in web orders. Then I was rushed to finish my food by closing time - twice. In the middle of eating, I was asked to give up the hard plates I was eating from, and was only left to eat out of the paper cups my sides were in. About 3 minutes later, we were told that we couldn't be in the restaurant even 1 minute past closing time. I had been served my food about 20 minutes before closing, so I was close to finishing my meal anyway. So I hurriedly wrapped up, and we left. This was a stop on a road trip for work, and I still had to book my hotel for the night, so I sat in my car and did that after leaving. I noticed that the staff didn't leave until about 15 minutes after close anyway - which would have been plenty of time for me to finish without being rushed. A friend that lives in Champaign who met me there was shocked, and said she won't be going back herself. After scanning these reviews, I noticed I'm not the only one who had a poor experience. Ordered lemonade and they didn't tell us they were out until after we had already paid. I gave this place a 5 star review 3 years ago. Been back dozens of times since without any problems. Today must of been a bad day. We all have them. As soon as the wife & I sat down, we noticed no napkins in the dispenser on our table. No napkins any at the tables near us. Stood up to get napkins from the counter only to notice many empty napkin dispensers sitting to the right of the registers. Had to ask for napkins is a bad sign. Getting only 5 cheap store bought napkins another bad sign. Almost like someone forgot to order napkins, for a restaurant, no less. Another bad sign was that my wife got the wrong sandwich and side even though they match the table sign with the number on the order. After driving since midnight, I stopped here at 11a for lunch. I ordered tomato bisque and half a spud to go. I asked for no sour cream with the spud. Not only did they not give me any butter for my potato, they also didn't give me a freaking spoon for my soup. I didn't check my bag before leaving the restaurant, as I normally only have to do that at McDonald's. So, because I don't keep spare spoons in my car, I had to pour my bisque on top of my potato in order to eat it. I also stopped in the restroom on my way out, and there was zero toilet paper in the stall I used. The restaurant opened 30 minutes before I arrived, so I'm guessing someone just didn't feel like checking the restrooms before the restaurant opened. The meat on my french dip.was almost jerky where it had been under the broiler. I'm not sure what kind of meat is being used but slice it a tad thicker. The flavor was good overall but I found it hard to get through. My husband had a turkey pepper Jack sandwich that he said was food but had way too much honey mustard. They really need more help or all employees need to be trained on expediting food because there was a ton of food waiting and nobody seemed to know what to do with any of it. The menu specifically says that all dressings come on the side EXCEPT the Cesar salad. Anyone who enjoys this kind of salad knows the dressing is tossed into it. My wife's food came out and I told her to go ahead and eat. She ate her sandwich and I still didn't have my food. The newbie that took my order came to the table a few minutes later and told me that he didn't input or charge me for my sandwich and potato. Mind you, the bill was $20 for two drinks and one half sandwich and salad. Then one of the other servers came to the table with my food and said "well, if you didn't pay for it, you can't have it" very rudely. So we walked out. Thought I would give them another shot after a few bad experiences years ago. I can't figure out why they are still in business! The prices are too damn high considering the quality and size of the food items with the exception of the 1 gallon cups they use. Tried a choose 2 with a bacon & cheese potato and a French Dip. I asked if the potato would melted shredded cheese or liquid cheese and she said liquid. It was definitely a very skimpy portion of melted and re-hardened shredded cheese. I included a photo of it for your opinion. Should've taken a photo of the tiny sandwich too. It was about 4 inches and had a small pile of beef in the very center of the bread. I paid $7 for this sad little meal. Wendy's bacon & Cheese potato is the same size or larger with actual melted liquid cheese and twice as much bacon for $1.99. Deli's are so much more than just a place that has sandwiches! I ended up ordering the baked potato with veggie chili and some pepperjack cheese with jalapenos on top. It must have been two baked potatoes opened up because this thing took up the whole to go box that it was in. I must say, it was pretty good... nothing I couldn't make at home but hey.. we all get lazy sometimes. I have eaten at this location twice and so far, so good. Both times I've gotten a Roast Beef Melt, which I highly recommend! In all honesty, I normally eat at Subway, but when I really want a good hearty sandwich, I'll eat here. For my sandwich, drink (Which is HUGE), and chips, the total came to about $10.50. So it's about $3-4 more than the fast food chain, but to me, it's worth it. The staff has been friendly and informative and very accommodating to what I asked for. I usually take out, but the eating area inside has always been clean and there are tables that have loads of extra condiments and utensils. I wish I could eat here a lot more, but at 10 a pop, it's more of a rare treat than anything. read more

We had the nachos and the club sandwich, both were nice hearty servings and tasted good. Since many of the negative reviews were more about the bathroom than their food, I thought I would check that out as well. The faucet is in bad shape, but they did have toilet paper in both stalls.... Yes I did look since it was mentioned in several reviews.
