STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! This company partners with SK Builders and if you hear anything, hear this: Stay away from both of these companies. My husband and I were ready to sign a contract on a house and some shady things were happening. They refused to stake the lot for the house then the lot price magically went up $10,000 the NEXT DAY!! When I tried to reach out to talk to Stan and the owner of SK they both basically laughed in our faces and knew they could make more money off the next people. They only care about themselves and the money they make off of you. They treat their employees poorly and they buy their reviews. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. closed on a new construction with McAlister Realty on December 14, 2018. Stan McAlister (Broker-In-Charge) represented SK Builders at the closing. He stated all repairs on our signed Repair List had been completed except one which an Addendum was created for a later completion. On my move-in day, I quickly realized that most repairs had not been made. Mr. McAlister will not respond to my REALTOR's messages nor will another McAlister realtor (Tonya) to mine. This company brings a completely new meaning to "Buyer Beware". LYING at the closing table, not completing agreed upon repairs (yes, McAlister and the builder are one-in-the-same), and not returning messages to buyers nor their agents. Very unprofessional crooks! Thought independent realtor and so very nice. Watch out and BEWARE . McAlister Realty is intertwined with SK Builder and if they are selling an old home in your neighborhood assume it's related to the builder. Totally bought the Mr.Nice approach.Wondered why realtor kept saying he had to check "with his broker" all the time and why he kept putting off putting my offer on house into WRITING. Whole thing bizarre . Turns out "an investor" bought the house for much lower cash bid. They would not say it was a builder-just "investor." More to the story of course, but mainly warn you to dot your i's and not assume appearances are what they seem. read more

The first agent I contacted said he was going to contact me to set up times to talk in detail on two different occasions but never contacted me. I had to chase him to no avail. The second guy they gave me gave me an appointment and told me to go see the final house by myself because he was too busy. Don't waste your time with these people. read more

Stan McAlister and his agent directly lied to us on numerous occasions; making all kinds of promises and assuring us that certain things didn't need to be written out in our contract because we could "trust them to do the right thing"... unfortunately we were naive enough to believe them. McAlister realty, and Stan in particular, can NOT be trusted... if you take the risk to buy a home from SK Builders (who McAlister works with exclusively) make sure to have your own agent represent you & make sure to get EVERYTHING in writing, as that is the only way they will actually honor their word (maybe). Also, be aware that McAlister & SK Builders love to play you off each other, meaning that whenever you have a problem & contact one of them, they will say it's the other company that needs to address that. You will go round & round for months & never get anywhere due to this, which is incredibly frustrating since these two companies work with each other exclusively so essentially function as a single company, even though they are technically separate, which they will frequently use to mislead you and ignore your concerns. There are too many things that were done unprofessionally, even unethically, to include in this post, but for just one example: the day before we were set to close on our house Stan suddenly cancelled our closing (without even telling us) by informing the closing lawyer, who then called us to ask what was going on? Come to find out Stan wanted to cheat us out of $2,000 dollars (long story) and when we insisted that it wasn't right & he should "do the right thing" as they often said they would, his response was to cancel our closing & say it would be ONE to TWO MONTHS before we could close (maybe) unless we were willing to accept his cheating us out of the $2,000 dollars!!! Stan was fully aware that we had already packed up all our belongings, had all utilities set to start the day of closing, and had movers set up for that weekend; basically he knew we couldn't afford to delay closing so used this bullying tactic to force us to accept his cheating us. Please be aware, this is the kind of company McAlister Realty is; they are ONLY concerned with how much they can take you for; they will make all kinds of promises, telling you whatever you want to hear, with no intention to follow through with anything that they're not legally required to via contract. Make sure to get EVERYTHING you need written into the contract, and don't pay for any upgrades as I promise you it will be cheaper to do it later with a 3rd party professional, and much more likely to be done correctly as well. read more
