Hired Owner Michael Shultz for an insulation job after he came to do estimate. He was very nice and also was very eager to be paid. 50% to start job and 50% upon completion. He was paid promptly each time, also ended up paying an additional several hundred dollars that wasn't in the original estimate because he didn't apparently do the estimate correctly. I even paid him $50 to pick up material that he never even included in the estimate because I have a very busy schedule and didn't have time to go pick up insulation. Michael assured us work would be done right and that it would pass inspection. I literally have that in writing from him. The insulation he placed failed inspection and after 3 weeks of asking him to come back and fix or refund our money, he told us he was busy doing another job on a roof for the week. When he finally said he would come back after his new job was completed, he once again asked us to by more material to correct the job he did incorrectly. That was the final straw. We have since sent a demand letter and if that goes ignored we will be filing a lawsuit. We are now in the process of hiring someone else now to come fix the job costing us another couple of thousand. I found no reviews about him, and that's the reason why I am posting this everywhere I can because if I would've seen a review like this, I would've never hired him. It is terrible what he's putting us through. Our home is now on hold and we can't move forward with finishing it being built until this job is corrected and passes inspection. This is a tiny home we put on our land for our son, he's sleeping on his brother's couch until he can live in his home. We live in an RV while we are building on our land so we have no room for my son. Building a home, comes with a lot of frustrations a lot of bumps, having to deal with people that you hired to do jobs that leave you high and dry after you've paid them and refuse to complete a job or corrected if done incorrectly there's something I don't wish on anyone. He's full of excuses also extremely immature. But it's all been a lesson learned for sure we shouldn't have even paid him his final pay until it passed inspection, but we just believed he would do the right thing if there were any issues like not passing inspection. We've been very fortunate with all the other workers we hired to do work on this Tiny home. We had other failed inspections, but those inspections the workers came back corrected the issue within a day or two we had the inspection redone and passed next day.
