Great experience. I had a minor bent rim and they were able to fit me into the busy schedule same day. They quickly fixed the rim within an hour and also noticed a nail in my tire and was able to patch it up. Definitely would come back (since Oakland has pot holes everywhere the size of my car, I'm sure this won't be the last time this happens). I called around to find a shop open on Saturday's to straight pipe a section of the exhaust on my old Benz. This shop is really straight forward, quick, and cheap. He had me in and out of there in about 30 minutes and did the work exactly as I wanted for just $50. Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet, but this is the shop where the legendary Bubb Rubb was filmed to show off his Whistle Tips. I also took my Durango and when I 1st my 2001 Durango to have some mufflers put on, It is and and they lasted all this money all this time. My cousin knows how costly repairs can be so he keeps a list of good mechanics who offer decent prices. i am glad my cousin called me back when I called him to explain the radiator was dangling and my loved pickup truck was trying to toss it out. i highly recommend MC Radiators. the radiator was flushed out, repaired, reattached and cleaned to my satisfaction. Based on the yelp reviews, I had MC Radiators weld up some aluminum AN fittings on to a Fluidyne radiator and Canton Racing Products aluminum coolant tank, oil cooler and thermostat housing for my mustang cobra. I felt a bit uneasy when I arrived to mc radiators because the place looked really run down, but I brushed it aside. BEFORE the work began, I told mc to be carful with the coolant tank and not to scratch it up. Furthermore, As MC was welding on the fittings, I saw the welder handling the aluminum sealing surface of the AN fittings with steel plyers and sure enough, it caused a nick on the sealing surface. What really got angry is that once MC radiators was done welding the coolant tank, the welder threw it in a shopping cart along with the rest of my parts and as s result, it caused the tank to get all scratched up and I got really pissed. When pointed out that my coolant was all scratched up, the guy behind the counter said, just use some sand paper to get rid of the scratches! After paying more than I was quoted, I left feeling angry and shafted because I expected better based on the yelp reviews. Update. I am feeling more anger and frustration with MC radiators and welding because a weld that was done by MC radiators on a mustang cobra aluminum oil cooler has a pin hole leak and fixing the leak leaves me with two unpleasant choices: spend a few hours of my own time to drain the oil, coolant, remove the oil cooler and spend even more hours of time that I don't have by sending it back to MC radiators and waiting for them to fix the pin hole leak. The second choice would be for me to save my self the hours of my own time that would be eaten up by the first option by using some JB weld to fix the pin hole leak on a $300 welding job! I'm beyond pissed that I'm faced with having to make such choices!!! read more

They tried to fix a crack in my rim. I am a welder (I don't do tig!) I could see that the setting was too hot. But the younger employee just kept welding. I wasn't charged anything but I had to buy a new rim. Don't go here! read more

Rip Off Alert! Avoid this place like the plague! Original review: Fast friendly service at a reasonable price. I had a new catalytic converter and a Flowmaster muffler installed and I was very pleased with the results. I was a little concerned that I couldn't make an appointment and it was first come first serve hence the four stars, but I called ahead and they said come on down. I was able to drop it off, grab a quick lunch and pick it up an hour later. Thanks Guys. New review: I thought I had found a good mechanic but a year later when it was time to smog my Jeep it failed because it didn't have a California compliant catalytic converter on it. Apparently it lacked the proper imprint that is required on California cats. Not sure if I was sold old stock (pre-2009) or if this is just common practice. Either way I'm out $400 and have been driving around on expired tags. When I brought it back to the shop I was told there is only a year warranty on parts and since I no longer had the receipt I couldn't prove that it was a part he sold me. I'm totally pissed and now I have to have another catalytic converter installed and have the Jeep re-smoged. It's in a really bad neighborhood so I thought the prices would be reasonable but it was double what the muffler shop a block away wanted. I got a quote from this place from a younger guy and it just seemed too much so I said I'd be back tomorrow. I'd never return here or recommend any of my friends or family to this place. Bike frame welding- these guys are one of the few I've found who will do it. I had a clean cut through the bottom half of my bike frame from some degenerate who went at it with a hacksaw. The guys at MC welded it back together for $30. They got it done by the next day as well. Though it's not their specialty, they were willing to take on the small job, and I really appreciated it. Here was my situation: The hood of my 2001 Honda Civic was not closing properly because the latch had broken away from the grill. I know it posed an enormous danger of flying up while I was driving on the freeway, and I also know that the Honda dealer would have tried to charge me mega-bucks for this kind of repair. I took the recommendation of Robert V. i called the shop at around 2:30pm yesterday to check if he could do the work. I had called him several times in the past few months but never had the time to get over there. The good news is that he could do the work and I had the time to get it done. Aint it amazing how that worked out? I like Marcello. He answered the phone like the neighborhood mechanic. You know the guy who could be your uncle (like John at Discount Tires on E12th St/23rd St). He was pulling my car into his shop and he told me that I had a leak in the exhaust system and that he would put it up on the rack and let em know where the leak was and the cost. He didn't try to talk me into a new radiator. My current radiator was fine, the lip where the cap screws onto was warped (dunno how that happened) and I need a new temperature switch. He fixed what I needed plus replaced the exhaust tubing between the cat and the muffler. Total price $340 and done in 90 minutes. There's nothing like calling to ask about availability, being told you can come right in, arriving and being seen within 5 minutes, and then being given the straightforward recommendation that you shouldn't get additional work done because your existing patch will hold just as well as a weld would. I can't say enough about how straight-forward, honest, and helpful Marcelo was. I'd happily return, and will recommend him to others.
