As someone who visits McDonald's frequently, this particular location is one of my favorites. We…read morerandomly stumbled into here for a quick bite without realizing it is the viral fancy McDonald's. First you walk through a hallway of Roman statues and plaques, which take you into a spacious dining hall. They have a full bakery section and plenty of seating. I got to try a few Italy speciality items like the Spinach & Parmigiano Croquettes (3 for €2.69) and Tiramisu (€2.90). When in Europe, you can always order a beer at McDonald's too, which is a treat for adults. The best of all, I was able to score the viral beach towel from here while it's been sold out everywhere else!

Unfortunately, when I first came here on Friday, it was closed for a special event. Thankfully, they were open to the public when I returned the following day. If you had to go to only one McDonald's in Rome, you definitely need to come to this location! Just like any McDonald's in Rome, they're all very easy to find as they had signs throughout the city directing you to the closest one. This place is just south of the Spagna Metro station, very close to the Spanish Steps and embassy. The design of this location was very unique. It was very modern with a little bit of ancient Rome. Ordering was very easy while using one of the kiosks. It was very spacious with plenty of seating. The service was quick, the food was good, and the dining area was kept clean.

I don't usually review fast food places on Yelp, but I felt like I needed to give this location a…read morenice plug since we had a unique and quite good experience here. We were visiting Italy on vacation and were walking from the Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain. This McDonald's location is right between these two famous landmarks. Traveling with young kids, you often get minimal warning that they're hungry or need a drink or a break. We found refuge in here when that situation came up. Both my kids love Pokemon and we happened to see that their current Happy Meals featured Pokemon, which was an instant hit (they both got a Pokémon figure and a Pokemon card written in Italian). Anyway, the features I have to point out: 1) you order at these large touchscreen kiosks with nice big photos, English menus, and you can pay right there at the kiosk (see photo) or with cash at the pickup area. It's really quick and easy, place your order then you go pick up your food. There was no line when we went around 6pm on a Saturday night. The place was very clean and looked pretty brand new. 2) Another feature, the cafe is separate from the food ordering area and you can get your coffee after you eat or just go in for coffee, another plus. 3) Lastly, at some of the tables, there's an attached tablet with games on it, which we watched people playing while eating. I didn't get to stay since we were still walking to the Trevi Fountain, but it was the first time I've seen this at a Mickie D's. The food quality was standard for McDonalds. Both kids got chicken McNuggets and they looked/ tasted exactly the same as in the US. --------TL;DR-------- PROS: convenient location, pretty new/very clean inside. Super-easy ordering system on the touchscreens. Tech included on some tables. Quick service CONS: well, if you're visiting Italy, I'd recommend going for Italian food and not getting McDonald's. But if you need a break from it, or you want a unique Italian Happy Meal for the kids, this is pretty cool. BOTTOM LINE: I was impressed with the new tech, the ordering system, and the fast service. One of the nicest McDonald's I've ever been in.
