It really is impressive to watch the seamless switch between handling different age groups. Each class feels really appropriate for the student's level. The studio is comfortable, the environment is friendly, and our kids really do learn a lot of valuable life skills beyond hitting an opponent. There has been a huge confidence and positive attitude boost from all 3 of our kids attending classes as compared to when they first started (some needed it more). I have seen progressive improvements in other students as well. I do wish I would have had the chance to meet Master Marvil. His legacy feels like it lives on here, even though I have only seen pictures and heard stories. We will never force our kids to continue studying martial arts. They do have the choice of other activities in it's place, but all 3 continue to stay and advance through the belt levels here and hope to do so for the years to come. One day, I may have to start attending classes myself. Although, I did always want to attend a rival school so I can face my children in a competition cobra kai style, but I'll hold for now.

We then had the option for a 3 class trial (including uniform) before committing to a program. In our case, my son enjoyed it and so we enrolled him. Since my son was interested, I also chose to enroll and begin my training. What makes Nackard Karate so special is the caliber of the instructors. They are incredibly patient with the kids but also teach important lessons around focus and following instructions (much needed in this digital age). For adult classes, there are no egos - the instructors are gracious with their time and care very much about instilling proper techniques. When he finally opened the doors to Society Boxing and Fitness on December 1,2018 there was nothing but family coming together to make sure it was all ready to go for opening day! From the start this gym has been one big family! Going into a gym you always worry about people judging you or just not being very friendly! Especially in a small gym like this there is none of that. Each and every member is welcomed by Drew and Heather with open arms and are treated like family! I call this gym a second family from all the friendships that I have made over the last year! When I started training with Drew I had so many fears with boxing since I only ever had one good trainer who started teaching me and then had one who had no clue what they were doing. But within a few one on one sessions Drew really made those fears disappear and made me feel so much more confident.
