Jason Sensei is an engaging and highly skilled instructor, and all the members--at every level--were welcoming and supportive, especially to someone still early in their aikido training. I was grateful for the opportunity to practice here and highly recommend this dojo to anyone interested in aikido.

As I have never done this before, I appreciate the time and attention they afford me to make sure I am getting the most out of this work out. The workout itself leaves me soaked in sweat and sore the following day, I don't think there is a single part of my body that is not being used. And did I mention that it's fun??? It's fun!!! I have taken a bunch of different classes such as barre & yoga and sometimes there is an air of elitism among the other patrons if you're not keeping up or struggling in the positions. Not here, there is a wide mix of people that attend the kickboxing classes and everyone is friendly, supportive & good natured making for a thoroughly enjoyable workout.

All I can say is WOW. Here I am at the tender age of 61, having heard for decades that Tai Chi can…read morereally help in every aspect of one's personal health. That it can even "reverse" the aging process! Now I know it's true! I take both Tai Chi and Kung Fu, as Sifu Lou teaches them back-to-back. I have learned that Tai Chi is the foundation of Kung Fu, so I refer to them both as my Chi classes. And I credit them - and Sifu Lou's instruction - with my continued rejuvenation. I started these classes back in the summer and I am now committed to them. I'm not saying that I am now pain-free and have been returned to the flower of youth. I'm saying that I'm on my way. Despite my age, I still think of myself as a "boy," but this boy has extensive and painful arthritis. What I have gained since I started classes is increased flexibility and more energy. And no, I have no illusion that I'll become 20 again!... But I'm learning to manage my body's age so that I'll essentially be a very young sexagenarian. My spirit is already there! With my chi classes, my body is catching up to my spirit. I've long had the goal of hitting triple digits before I leave this Earth. Sifu Lou and Tai Chi are helping me to get there!! One final thing: Sifu Lou is a generous, compassionate and empathetic man. As well as a man of deep faith. He's the guy to teach you Wing Chun!

He is very experienced and knowledgeable about Wing Chun Kung Fu and many aspects of Chinese culture. He teaches the kids not only the skills but also about the health benefits of doing kung fu. He also teaches them about self discipline, self confidence, self respect, and respect for their parents, teachers, instructors, and fellow classmates and more. He maintains control of the class which could be difficult especially with younger students, however, he is quite masterful at managing the class. I used to sit and watch class in amazement at how he handles any disruptions or challenges. I learned a few parenting tips from him as well. The classes are typically a mix of conditioning and skills with games at times. He would have special classes with a party at the end and games for holidays and traditions like Christmas and Halloween where he'd also give the kids a goody bag. That was such a nice thing to do and kudos to his Wife as well for her part w/ the goody bags. My boys really enjoyed the classes and looked forward to going.

However, I can tell you that my son loves it. He is focused and engaged for the entire lesson and retains what he is learning. The staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. What I love the most so far is that respect is expected, discipline is required, the students are to do their best. The instructors will hold firm to the manner in which things are done. If the student is wrong in form or discipline then correction will follow. The student will correct himself and then there is always a smile and a good job or some kind of encouragement to the student. I see more jovial smiles in the two days that I am here a week than I do collectively during the rest of the week. In this manner the student is learning correctly in a positive and encouraging environment. I truly believe that the Brnich ' s have the students best interest at heart. I pass several other karate studios to take my son to this academy. I feel that the quality of skills and the character of the instructors are well worth the drive.
