I have used them exclusively (minus specialists such as sports rehab, surgeons, etc.), and have persuaded my family and friends to do likewise. They all like it as well. Please also note that this is a "teaching" practice, meaning that before you see the "actual" doctor, you will probably see a student finishing their residencies (I have seen the same at my regular doctor, if only a little less frequently). If this doesn't work for you, you could probably ask to see Dr. Vollersten specifically. He knows his stuff, and if he doesn't (against, speaking of area specialists), he will let you know and refer you to only the best. Their walk-in care is always prompt, their staff is always friendly, and the doctors/residents are knowledgeable and helpful. The only problems I have had were with a bill, but that ended up being an issue with my insurance company. Note that if you have questions about a bill from MD Care, you need to call during their regular working hours (M-F, 9-5 I believe). I highly recommend MD Care, especially if you need to see a doctor on short notice.

I came to this conclusion because 1) their web site is a single page in the St. Croix Ortho web site, and 2) their office is in the same building as the St. Croix Ortho clinic in Stillwater. So it's not surprise that when my doc said I needed to get a post-op knee brace before my surgery that he recommended The Brace Place. It was only a few days (maybe a week) before my surgery, so I didn't have time to shop around and had no idea where to start. I feel like he should have disclosed the face that they owned it. With that said, however, I'm pretty happy with the shop. There is one main guy that runs the place and he usually has an assistant in the office with him. I've been there three or four different times and each time there is a different assistant. But all of them knew their stuff. They were able to answer my questions, were very friendly, and never talked down to me. The main guy is a bit grumpy when you talk to him over the phone, but when you get him talking about what he really knows (braces), he gets friendlier. I wanted to go in to get an adjustment on a brace and didn't want to make an official appointment because I knew it would only take a few minutes. When I called, he complained how busy he was, but he would see if he could help. It was around the Holidays, so he didn't have help and when I got there, I had to wait 15 minutes before he showed up. But he was very helpful once I saw him and got the brace adjusted. It turned out I was putting it on wrong, but he wasn't condescending or impatient about it. Overall, I would recommend The Brace Place for any of your medical bracing needs. You can get basic braces for limbs and joints off the Internet for cheaper, but if you need a "professional" one for surgery or active sports, I wouldn't shy away from recommending them.

I'd had pain in my lower back for years that was steadily getting worse, and it was to the point that I had already decided I needed to do something about it. I'd seen two different chiropractors in the past and gotten some short term relief, but it didn't fix the problem. So the truth is that I didn't expect much from this new guy either, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. (I had gotten a free massage so I felt like I had to do a follow-up with him.) Within two visits, Dr. Matt had the cause of my pain figured out and gave me some exercises to do to take some of the workload off of my lower back. After the second week, I was cautiously optimistic that my back was feeling better. After about four weeks, I knew for certain that it was actually working. It's been about two months now, and my back pain is drastically lower. Most days it's non-existent, and that is because Dr. Matt took the time to figure out what was causing my back pain and teach me what I needed to do to alleviate it. It's not magic - it takes work on my part as well as going in for adjustments, but it's easy to do the work when I can feel the results. In addition to being a good doctor, he's a friendly, fun guy and the rates are extremely reasonable as far as I am concerned. I'd refer anyone I know to him without hesitation.
