I had Dr Pettit with my first pregnancy and am now trusting her to deliver my second this January…read more She is kind, thorough, efficient, laid back, and knowledgeable. I appreciate that she saves time for me to ask questions, allayed my fears, supported every choice I made (choosing not to do genetic testing, not taking many/any classes, wanting an epidural). She called me out when I was gaining weight a little to fast -- just told me to be careful. I'm SO GLAD she didn't tiptoe around it, drew it to my attention, then praised me in the following weeks that the weight gain had tapered. As a first time mom who is pretty laid back, I needed guidance but not chiding which is exactly what Dr Pettit provided. I had one experience with contractions that came on that I thought were the real deal (they weren't) that led me to call the after hours line to talk to a Dr. The Dr on call (not Dr Pettit) was super kind, helpful and walked me through a few questions to help me decide whether or not to go in to the hospital (I didn't end up going). Even though it was 3AM, this person wasn't my dr, she still treated me with respect and helped me. My delivery was pretty uneventful until my son was actually born -- he wasn't breathing at all. Dr Pettit could see that I was visibly distressed and talked me through what was happening while she was stitching me up. She assured me that this was pretty normal, that they were doing everything they could and that I should trust the process. She was so right. And I'm glad that she saw my fear and talked me through it. The new offices on 6565 France are BEAUTIFUL. The reception area is welcoming, plenty of places to sit. There's a small play area in case you have an older child with you. It's not the end all be all, but it's very nice that Associates in Women's Health is a technologically advanced office. You get blood results quickly. I knew the day I took my 1 hr glucose test before I even left the office that I failed and needed to come back for the 3hr. If you're hunting for a practice to call home- try Associates in Women's Health. I've had nothing but great experiences in my 2 years seeing them.

I switched to AWH after having a terrible experience with a miscarriage at another clinic. I…read moreexperienced a second miscarriage while at AWH and Allie Rodriguez, PA, was wonderful, caring, and provided good patient education. I saw Allie again for an annual check up and during my next pregnancy, and she is my favorite part about this clinic and I would recommend her services and care - I wish she could have been my OB. Other service providers at the clinic have been okay or disappointing. The front desk tends to be awkward. Only Tiffany tends to make eye contact and acknowledge your presence upon arriving - the others will not acknowledge you, so you can't tell if they are so engrossed in their work that they haven't seen you or if they are intentionally ignoring you. If you walk up to them or speak you get the "we'll be with you in a moment" - cool, just say that next time so I'm not wondering. Going to the doctor is a stressful experience for many and this cold welcome doesn't help. I was very anxious during my pregnancy because of my two previous miscarriages. The ultrasound techs were always wonderful and would tell you what they saw and what they were doing. The OBs themselves are kind of all over the place. You can't choose which provider will deliver your baby, so I opted not to see a single provider and instead meet all of them at least once so that I'd have a touch of familiarity on delivery day. I got okay to good impressions of all of the doctors during those visits except for Dr. Goodman who sped through "fat facts" - the things I was likely to experience or be at risk for being overweight and pregnant. While I do expect individualized medical care, what disappointed me was that she started out by apologizing for telling me these things (no one is more aware that I am fat than I am - have been my whole life, don't need an apology for sharing information if you believe it's important for me to have informed care). She then sped through the information, which included induction at 39 weeks, and I was so shocked that I opted to end the appointment rather than ask questions. I was still early in the pregnancy and just hoped to make it past the first trimester. There wasn't much notable about the other docs - they'd answer my questions and were not likely to offer up much info otherwise. The clinic was nice about me coming in between appointments to listen to the heartbeat to lessen my anxiety. The final straw was delivery day when Dr. Pettit swept my membranes without informed consent. I'm not saying I wouldn't have taken her expert medical advice, but you should tell me what you're doing to my body before you do it. After my final postpartum check up, I'm done with AWH.

She always made sure to leave out extra wintergreen mints for me. It's a super nice office. Front desk staff made sure I saw every single available dr incase something happened and I needed to see one of the other Dr's when I went into labor. I thought that was really sweet. They wanted to make sure I was completely comfortable with all the staff. I never had a "smear" before and Raidun was spoon gentle and coaxed me into trusting her and we clicked really well. I couldn't think of any better team than adefris! The level of care I received from the time I found out I was pregnant to the time it came for my emergency c section, I couldn't of had a better experience from Dr. Boeke and Dr. Crepeau. Dr. Boeke was so sweet from every prenatal visit to the final visit of my induction. He wanted to be the one to deliver my son and it so happened to work out that way. When it was time for the dr to come in during labor he grabbed my leg and rubbed it, just reassuring me that everything was going to be ok. And I couldn't thank him enough for that, especially as a first time mom. When it came to my last visit, I actually had tears in my eyes that I wouldn't be seeing him anymore. I had never met such an understanding and compassionate Dr before. I was on a specific medication and they worked with me talking to my prescribing clinic when I was having issues with them upping my dose due to my pregnancy. He always reassured me I was doing just fine and that I'd be a good mother and I really appreciated all the talks he, I and my husband had from start to finish. Needless to say if I have more, I'll be seeing these guys. I love them so much. They're an amazing woman's clinic.

I was having a minor procedure, however I was very scared. They provided me a fluffy robe and blanket and walked me through every single thing that will be happening. The nurses held my hands and rubbed my arms when getting the IV and while waiting for the anesthesia to kick in. They made me feel very comfortable and I felt confident I was in great hands. The portal and website messages were never returned. A voicemail left for the triage department was not returned for 2 1/2 days. Because of the lack of follow-through by this clinic, they made me reschedule my appointment with my provider, and my provider did not have any openings for over a month. When the rescheduled appointment finally came around, I sat in the virtual waiting room for 45 minutes. The provider, Ilana Farb, never showed up for my appointment. I was extremely upset, called the clinic to report my missing provider, and couldn't report it to anyone because no one answered the phone. The automated system left me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. I called again, chose the triage nurse option, and left a voicemail reporting the issue. I said I expected a call back that day. The call never came. The next day I repeatedly called to reach someone, anyone. I was finally connected with a person, who arranged for my provider to call me on her lunch hour. I explained to my provider, Ilana Farb, that it was difficult to trust her care when she doesn't respond to her messages and the clinic provides such poor customer service. She then argued with me and told me I didn't send her a portal message, said I needed to talk with the clinic manager about the customer service issues, and she just wanted to discuss medical issues. She didn't seem to understand that the quality of medical care is unable to be separated from the customer service issues and that the stress of this experience is likely having a massive effect on my hormones. She also did not apologize for not showing up to my appointment the day before. I terminated my medical care with her during this phone call. She ended the call by saying the clinic manager would still call me the next day. Unsurprisingly, the clinic manager did not call. I only wish I had read other reviews before I began with this clinic. Clearly I am not the only person who has received this treatment. Many other patients have reported these same problems and yet this clinic continues to put patients through this. This is very suprising and ironic treatment from a clinic whose mission is creating "a warm and welcoming environment, one in which we can provide the absolute best care available with a focus on your unique needs. We partner with you in your healthcare decisions by listening and responding to your individual concerns." The treatment I received was the exact opposite of this mission statement. I will be filing a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Health. This kind of patient treatment is unacceptable.

I have had nothing but good experiences here with the staff and nurses. No issues with making appointments, and lab tests have all been handled timely and easily. I'm a tough stick for blood draws and haven't had issues with lab techs not being able to draw blood. I ADORE my OB at this practice, Dr. Margaret Enadeghe. She is the first OB I've had who's taken the time to listen and respond to every single one of my and my partner's questions. Even when I nervously ask the same question multiple times over several visits! We are never rushed, however long she needs to spend with us to make us feel comfortable and informed, she does. She's a lovely person and a new mom herself, and happy to share her experiences tackling motherhood, which I've really appreciated as I'm becoming a first-time mom as well. Also, for folks who have ED/body dysmorphia issues, Dr. Enadeghe is incredibly sympathetic. I have disordered eating and was really worried I'd be tempted to restrict calories because of pregnancy weight gain. Thankfully, Dr. Enadeghe told me there was no need for me to even LOOK at the scale when they weighed me. She said she would inform me if anything was out of the ordinary, and assured me that the number on the scale wasn't a concern. This approach really helped me and made me much less anxious about my body's changes during pregnancy. I also really like the policies put in place by the clinic. I think they try to stay on top of current academic research and are consistently changing their protocols, instead of just sticking with antiquated methods. Quick example: I'm a research junkie and learned there's relatively new data that states it can be beneficial to the newborn to delay cord cutting after birth. This helps with hemoglobin levels and a bunch of other stuff. I asked Dr. Enadeghe about this and she said it was standard policy for the clinic to delay cord cutting.

Kindbody Minenapolis…read more My husband and I tried to conceive for 34 months. I can't count the amount of positive pregnancy tests I saw, only for it to result in a chemical pregnancy. Something was wrong. The first year and a half was filled with "keep trying", "it will happen", "relax", "stop worrying about it". I went through three OBGYNs before I found one who cared. Turns out, I have endometriosis and tubal issues. Over the 34 months, I underwent a hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, two HSGs, and multiple rounds of clomid/letrozole and ovidrel--all to no prevail. I dreaded the thought... is IVF my only option? To make my babies in a petri dish? To recognize that I can't do this on my own? What about the cost? Then, I met Dr. Fabiola Balmir at Kindbody in Minneapolis. I immediately felt cared for, acknowledged, and like there was a possibility I could actually be a mom. I told her I wanted to move as fast as possible, and she saw me that next cycle. Honestly, my experience with the hormones and egg retrieval was horrible and I am so thankful that I will never have to go through that again. The way my body reacted to it was very difficult on me physically and mentally, but I am so grateful that I was with Dr. Balmir and her team. I could not have asked for a better team. The transfer, on the other hand, was a piece of cake. Within two and a half months of my initial appointment, I was pregnant. Finally. I had a complication following the transfer and Dr. Balmir and her team took incredibly good care of me both physically and mentally. Most importantly, my baby is safe thanks to them. I will never forget the moment Shelly found the heartbeat. In 6 months, my husband and I will welcome our first baby into the world, a daughter. That is still surreal to me. She has 6 perfect siblings in what we call "freezer daycare". Three brothers, three sisters. We can't wait to give each of them a chance at life, all thanks to Dr. Balmir and her team. I want to stress the care that I received at this clinic. Some people say IVF wasn't difficult, but for me, the entire process was difficult. The 34 months of trying, being told I was fine and young, coming to terms with the need for IVF, the retrieval, the complications, the fear of losing the baby. Dr. Balmir recognized my struggle, sat with me, held my hand, talked me through everything we did, and truly cared. Her entire team from the front desk to the MA and nursing staff, the techs... I have not one complaint about any of them and I cannot thank them enough. Price transparency with BCBS MN, when all said and done, the total bill was about $50,000, with about $10,000 out of pocket. That said, I had a big complication that caused me to undergo a procedure and to be watched very closely. Worth every cent, nonetheless. -AA
