Dot's Market is the convenience store around the corner from the house where I spend the first 6 years of my life, and probably the initial cause of my sugar addiction. The eponymous Dot was a sweet old lady who knew me by name and kept all my favorite treats stocked. It has since been sold and I imagine that Dot is no longer with us, but I get a little nostalgic whenever I am back in Burlington and driving through my old hood.

An employee came out and started yelling at me for "filling up" her trash can with my two small empty brown bags, and told me to leave and go to the car wash down the street. Needless to say, she had an episode over the equivalent size of two pieces of paper going in the trash can, and I did not get gas there, nor will I ever return. I am SO sorry that you have to physically service the trash can that you made available to your customers to use.

Mostly they seem to deal in the low-end beer, lottery tickets, soda, and cigarettes required by Winooski's lower-class and welfare populations. The people behind the counter are often rude and unresponsive and seem to be too busy bickering with each other to actually attend to customers. They run the deli part of the store, where they prepare food, and deal with money and customers at the same time, without washing their hands. It's hard to tell if the manager is stoned or developmentally disabled. The store is absolutely filthy. The floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years and chunks of it literally come off underfoot. Counters are sticky and covered with sugar and spilled coffee that seems only rarely to be wiped up. There is sometimes no coffee available because the employees have forgotten to make it. The store is sometimes closed during business hours with a sign on the door saying the employee will be back soon. You often have to run a gauntlet of sketchy-looking people and assorted smokers to get into the door. There are often sketchy people loitering around inside the store, as well, talking to the employees (probably their friends). There is frequently garbage and trash in the parking lot. There is a sketchy apartment upstairs, also owned by Champlain Farms. I was walking past one evening, and a chair came through a second floor window, showering the parking lot with glass, after one of the tenants got angry. The parking lot is frequently the place of business for local drug dealers, including some of the employees of the store. The manager of the store is unresponsive to complaints. All this is basically in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You couldn't ask for anything worse.

Today January 10th 2020 at around 6 a.m. I went to purchase coffee again before I went to work and he locked the door on me once again with customers outside waiting to get in and I do have video footage of everything. Again I have called Denise and I've told her about the problems. My girlfriend went back in the store because as soon don seen me leave he unlock the store and told my girlfriend she couldnt purchase any coffee. He stood by all the coffee pots and machines and told her to get out in a very rude manner and I believe he put her his hands on her to push her out the store and I told her to call the cops and I have went to the store today to show the store manager the video of him hiding all the coffee pots and kind of being very rude and she has came to the conclusion that when he's working there in the morning that she would ask that I just not go there in the morning but I can go there whenever I want when there are different employees working. I also explained to her it made me feel very uncomfortable and very rude of him to accuse me of being a thief which I have never stolen anything from that store and I told her to go over her video footage and that if she finds anything that I would gladly give him my whole paycheck I work 50 hours a week in Williston and I work very hard for my cash and it was very very rude of him to call me a thief and a friend of mine's is telling me I can look into some legal matters about this situation.
