Reviews elsewhere have gone so far as to compare an evening here to a religious experience…read more I will attempt something a wee bit less emotional and a we bit more quantitative. Let me set the stage: it's Monday it's a small village in the south of France and nothing opens between the end of midi (lunch) at 14:00 until 19:00. Most restaurants are closed on Mondays, their signage never gives the days and hours that they are open and website reservations are a rarity assuming you're learned enough French to make one. It's 19:45 and the four of us are wonder the streets and alleys in the rain hopeful that we won't have to go to bed without supper. About 30 minutes into our search we find La Patio. I open the door greeted by a pleasant young man who looks at his reservations book and asks if I have one. I look at the dining room it's small and intimate there are two tables for four. I glance past him at the book; there are to names not crossed out. He says, sorry monsieur no walk in. I gave him my best starving wet stranger please look. He motioned me to wait, he disappeared to the back of the dining room. A minute later another young man appeared. He said in good English, how many? I said, four feeling our luck was changing. He showed us to a nice table and with a smile asked if this would be okay. WOW! We dined on fantastic dishes the restaurant filled to capacity and the two young men saw to our every need. Including English translation, and an extraordinary bottle of wine paired with our choices. I don't know the French names and couldn't spell them if I did. But, I am the adventurous one of the group;!they say that I will eat anything! I agree that I will eat anything....once. I had the goat plat. Don't miss this experience! It may be better than any religious experience you've had.

What a meal. We reserved here for Easter dinner and enjoyed every bite. The place itself is lovely…read moreand cozy and the hostess, Catherine, wife of the chef was lovely. Clearly she doesn't eat her husband's food as she was far too thin!! Me on the other hand, ending with a cheese course and some dessert...bon vivante!! Servers were very nice and of course, perfect service here. Every dish was beautiful and delicious. My favorite thing was the fois gras served with a morel soup. Dessert for me is always chocolate and it was divine.
