They recently started offering Plumbing services and my first experience was so-so. As part of the maintenance plan, you now get a plumbing inspection every year. The plumber who came out today was very nice but missed an issue that I pointed out to him. He did have his Master Plumber that was hiding in the truck (? Seemed odd haha) come take a look. There was some estimate issues leading me to think the installation of a toilet would be $1,000 for labor alone. However, the owner was quick to rectify and look into the issue personally once he became aware, and was very open to feedback on how to make the estimates more clear. I would still like to see them itemize the cost of materials in the future, but it seems to be something at least on his radar. I would give this company a chance if you're having issues. They seem to truly want to do the right thing by the customers and their employees, which is important.

We called them over a year ago to replace a water heater that decided to kick it the weekend we had guests staying with us. Once he arrived, ahead of his truck, he did a great job getting a plan together to attack the problem. When the truck arrived, he moved quickly and cleared the clogged pipe. We were in shock over the state of our house, but Mike was the consummate professional and clearly laid out the options moving forward. I got the immediate sense that he was fair and not looking to take advantage of anyone. He explained best case and worst case for each option and applied no pressure as we tried to figure out cost, insurance ramifications, urgency and other factors. We made our decision and he committed to fixing it as quickly and economically as possible. Fast forward to the repair. He and his guys were on time, professional and very respectful. They prepped for a clean departure and started the work. What initially looked like a best case, started going sour because of where the problem was in the pipes, but the guys did everything they could to not take the job to the next level, which would have cost a lot more money. Mike and the guys went above and beyond to save an exterior retaining wall, which would have cost me thousands to repair/replace. They easily could have just taken the easier and more expensive option but they found a way to fix everything without digging up my wall and walkway. The estimator advised it should cost between $3000-$3500 with my discounted labor rate as a result of a maintenance contract I have. I get the written estimate the next day and it was for a 40 gallon water heater and the cost was $4,100 with my discount. In the meantime, I got 2 other estimates for a 50 gallon water heater for $2,395 and $2,250. It seems as though this company is not giving the customer the promised labor rate discount they promise when they have you sign up for a maintenance contract. Either that, or they just inflate the actual price to make up for the discount. Either way, I am now looking for a new HVAC company with honest pricing and accurate estimates.

He pulled up my toilet use the auger on my drain my house took down one of the drains the line to take it down put in rubber gasket stuff merge it back and came back up and told me that everything was fine and he was done. They charged me $550 for I felt the price was fair. The next day I noticed my toilet was came back out, supposedly fixed it. It continued to leak. A week or so went by. I figured I would just take care of the leak myself under the toilet. I had to replace a valve under my kitchen sink so I sent my son into the crawlspace when he got down there. We had 4 inches of water all over the crawlspace, water from my washing machine, my dishwasher and kitchen sink all over the crawlspace. My son went down to look to see where the leak was at and found there was a punched in the side of the drain. I called back up and told the situation they came out put a fan in front of the crawl opening and tried to charge me another 165 dollars because I was "such a good customer " would not take responsibility for anything and wasn't planning to fix the hole because my "son did a good job patching it". Then wanted to charge me more to fix the toilet leaking as well. There are a bunch of hucksters don't use them.

Two other plumbers told me I either had a broken feed line (in the ground) or a bad well, which would have cost me a fortune. But Steve found I had a valve that was rusted three-quarters closed, reducing flow. He repaired the valve for an astoundingly reasonable cost and, after cleaning up, I never knew he was even there. All seemed great. He met my Dad in person and even met our general contractor; whom discovered they don't live far from each other. He gave us a quote that was reasonable and he recommended the exact toilet and shower for us to get and said when the materials come in give him a call so he can come and do the job....... granted it has been delays in the shipping supplies industry because of the pandemic. Nonetheless, materials came in. I called, I texted, I left voicemails, my dad called, texted, left message etc. so many times and no response. We thought maybe he got sick or something with the pandemic and all. Nothing. Crickets. No response. Hmmmmm that's weird right? So I asked my WHITE friend to give him a call to inquire about getting a job done that was similar service and he f*cking called her right back,left a voicemail and he even texted her. WTF!! I was so shocked. It's hurtful and just plain unprofessional; not to mention cowardly. I posted a screenshot of the text conversation so you can see the number matches his business profile. Bob came over and was able to assess the situation promptly and explain the details in an easy-to-understand fashion. He was able to fix it and we are very happy with his work. What we thought was a crisis was just an old tub spigot that needed replacing and the cost was less than we imagined. We will use Franklin Family Plumbing again.
