I only found out, when after I had requested from my pharmacy multiple times, that provider was non responsive. I called and was told I needed a visit and that she would no longer be providing prescriptions for mental health. Then today I called for an appointment and the message on machine said she is closing her practice. I never received a letter advising this. It is hard to find a new provider especially with NO NOTICE. Coming on to web page today you can see the posting, but that is not sufficient. I asked the office about notifications and was told they did mail outs. Where is mine? No email, no snail mail, nothing. I feel this is negligent in many ways.

And apparently I can't see the MD I was referred to there as she doesn't even work there. The care I've received lately is sloppy and unprofessional. Sadly I will now have to search for a new primary. I liked the idea of staying in a privately owned clinic but that has turned out to be unsustainable.

The office was quick to schedule for both my first appointment and the follow up. Very conveniently located, with the lab they work with right across the hall. Khadijah, the new office manager was super helpful with answering my questions about billing and referrals. Khalisah and Noel, the other clinical staff, were warm and personable during the check-in and intake. Dr. Shane himself was very personable. Very much of the shared decision-making school, informing me of all my options and helping me make comfortable decisions. On-time to my appointment and accommodating of my needs.

I was unhappy that my doctor of many years, as the doc before him, left the practice and there was not a medical doctor replacement. That's old school, apparently. My new health care provider is an "advanced nurse practitioner", Heidi Sedra. I've been through some really odd health issues the last couple years and she has treated them very well, or referred me to one who can with lots of follow up on her part. Looking back on my past health needs, 99% of my reasons for seeing a doctor could have been equally taken care of by a nurse practitioner.

I've been with Dr. Duncan long enough that I saw…read morehim when he worked in Tumwater Family Practice. his ability to see to my needs has been phenomenal over the years and he's even gotten my into be seen on short notice. throughout the horrors of the world during 2020, 2021 and into 2022 they were the most understanding and helpful even when my attitude was at the worst I can ever remember. they even went to the extent to help get appointments set up with my own mental state just couldn't cope with ANYTHING on those occasions. sigh. I am very sad to be leaving his care. so, why the one star rating? well... he decided to change his business model to a concierge medicine model. the example would be a gym membership. you want to be seen here... it'll be an extra $80/month just to be part of his practice. this also leaves out something that has come up with my wife a few times. she tends to have overall poor health and has had some incidents where she needed a boil drained or whatever and rather than taking care of it there (while she was there in his office) he sent her to any emergent care clinic of her choosing. as much as we've trusted (and really still do trust) them as a whole I found that odd. this led to even more "Hmmm" sort of thoughts. he didn't (or doesn't?) seem to keep any vaccines on hand and referred me out to the local Albertson's, Walgreen's etc. when I was forced by work to get a shot. most of this I can deal with but, it all plays into the same thing. more money for what is apparently LESS service. if it weren't for the face-to-face interactions I've had with Dr. Duncan being so amazing and his staff so completely helpful I would've left on my own years ago.

I have to laugh at the people whining about the yearly membership charge of 800 dollars and change. Maybe if they went cut out the Uber Eats and Starbucks, they could afford to invest in their health. He also has an awesome staff, and the lab services are 1st rate.

Either way, not supportive enough to continue coming regularly. To make matters 100% worse, I made regular payments twice a month, EVERY MONTH from the time that I was first seen at this clinic. 4 months later, they SENT ME TO COLLECTION. It took a long, protracted phone call during which the receptionist tried to deny they ever received payment and then claimed she called to discuss a payment plan but we never called back and then she tried to tell me that the amount we had been paying wasn't enough- so which is it? you never got the payment, we never discussed the payment or the payment wasn't enough? I felt like I was in a bad episode of the twilight zone. Finally, she agreed to retract the collection agency posting, and we will continue to make the same payments we have been making ALL ALONG! the worst thing is, I believe this "clinic" sent me to collection as punishment for not continuing to attend the "program" for weight loss, which includes weekly weigh-ins, 15 minute mini-sessions about food related habits and recommendations for expensive supplements, as well as mental health services from their "in house" therapist, suggestions to buy their "cookbook" and other $$ makers. Way to prey upon the vulnerability of those who are attempting to lose weight. Terrible local business practices and service! STAY AWAY!
