My husband and I drove here and it was a little confusing at first because there is no set parking lot that we found, we kind of just drive to one of the entrances and parked nearby. There's also neighborhood street parking. This park is also dog friendly! There's a main trail that's paved and some side trails that are unpacked and can get a little muddy depending on the weather. We saw some possible turkey tail mushrooms growing on the logs and some horsetail plants. For us the park, wasn't too big, it's very beautiful and lush but the trail itself is on the shorter side unless we missed something.

There are softball and baseball fields, which can also be used for soccer and other sports. Towards the north west corner of the park there's also a playground area for kids and toddlers. there are two large picnic tables near the playground which can be great for a meal on a nice day. There are also paved paths that kids can use to ride bikes and scooters on, though they are slightly hilly.

It's quite sensational considering the area is most definitely suburban, adjacent to urban. I saw Frink Park on the map, next to Leschi Park, which is along Lake WA Blvd, where we were walking along in the Madrona area. We decided to additionally cover these two parks in the same day. Leschi Park drew me in with two big rose hedges and a sequoia. Frink Park kept me going with its many green paths. There aren't any signs to suggest walking paths, so we relied on Google maps which had dotted lines to show where the trails are. Luckily, cell signal was plenty strong within the park. A couple of driving paths cut across the park; otherwise, it's a forest vibe. I suspect we'll return to explore more of the trails.

Just be sure not to distrub any of the neighbors. Watch lichens, mushrooms attached to treets as in a leader, and spiderwebs in the middle of the trail! Follow your map so you can find the road that divids the two parks. Also be extra careful when crossing the street as it is in kind of a curb and drivers might not see you.

It's mainly one big play structure, a sandbox and one of those merry-go-round things that kids love (and makes grownups want to hurl). There's some swings, picnic benches and a huge grassy are. Easy to get to from Cap Hill or Madrona/Madison Park if you don't live in the Central Area. Plus there's a nice coffee shop nearby or you could stop off at Ezell's for some fried chicken and make a picnic out of it.

Our hotel overlooked the park and we saw people in it with their dogs all the time, even when it was raining.

This could be…read morea nice park, but nearly every day I walk by there's anywhere from a handful to a dozen dirtbags drinking beer and smoking, littering all over the park and throughout the neighborhood as they leave. Sometimes vagrants during the day, but mostly teenagers in the afternoon and evenings. Haven't found any needles yet, just beer cans and garbage. When I walk my dogs through they'll sometimes try to hide the beer, but when there's a big group they don't care. I walk through on my own to make them uncomfortable, but I wouldn't take my kids here under any circumstances. Police need to start patrolling this area.

This space is a connection to culture and heritage. If someone from the Philippines is feeling homesick, they should be able to come to this space as a place of comfort. Unfortunately, it's a park that has been left unchecked for the past 10 years. The time capsule and metal plaques were stolen. I know the elders and descendants are frustrated with these disgraceful and disrespectful acts. I hope this park will be restored to a welcoming, clean, and safe environment again. I know the Filipino and Beacon Hill communities would want this. I know visitors from out of town would want this too. I took a direct flight from Sea-Tac Airport to Ninoy Aquino International Airport recently. Visiting Rizal Park in Manila was on my itinerary. Thousands of people were at the park. I had never experienced anything like it. The monument was guarded and barricaded. The open space was beautifully landscaped. If I can fly to Manila and feel good about visiting Rizal Park, I should feel good about visiting this park in my hometown too. This park has history with the Filipino community and I'm confident that with sincere investments and thoughtful attention it will flourish again.

At night, it's not very well lit but the view of the city from this park is gorgeous.
