A couple things to consider as you are planning your trip to Kerry Park: 1) the park is located on a extremely steep hill (you can definitely walk to it, but you'll likely be exhausted walking all the way up to the top from lower Queen Anne), 2) if you are driving it may take some time to find parking as the park is tucked away in a neighborhood, and 3) Mount rainier is viewable from the park on a clear day, you'll want to stop by on a sunny and clear day if possible (the view is still beautiful if the weather is overcast, but it's even better if it's sunny and clear). When you arrive to Kerry Park you'll be greeted with a postcard perfect view of Seattle/the puget sound, and a relaxing atmosphere. It can get busy but spots will naturally open up where you can take photos. I'd recommend going close to sunset if you can time it. Btw, if you are a Grey's anatomy fan some of the house filmed at are tucked away in the Queen Anne neighborhood.

They have a few benches and a sculpture in the middle. It's not that big of space, but a great quick photo opp.

My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. ​We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! It's the largest park in the city, so there is plenty of space to enjoy nature. Whether you want a serious hike or just a peaceful stroll to see the water, this is the place to go. Don't forget your camera--the scenery is post-card perfect!

I was happy to find out this was a free park. I did find myself wishing there were more public restrooms along the paths. Ignoring that, I loved all the green space. I love when trees are big enough to go in and still feel covered by the leaves. There were a lot of trees like this. They also had easy walking paths and a lot of benches throughout the park. You could easily spend an afternoon exploring. Loved our time here and would return to explore more.

Upon every turn of the trail, you come across a bench. Each section of the park has a different geographic representation in the plants. Super cool! You can tell a lot of work goes into the maintenance of a park like this. The flowers today were popping! Spring is in full blown colors that are amazing. It is hard to believe that it was all real. Smackdab right in the middle of Seattle, this park is a treasure! In addition to the wide open…read morespaces, trees, and fountains, the Volunteer Park Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum are also located here. If you want to see a good view of Seattle, check out the Volunteer Park Water Tower's observation deck in the southeast corner of Volunteer Park right on top of Capitol Hill. There's no elevator so be prepared to climb the 107 stairs to the top and be rewarded with 360-degree view of Seattle! There are bars and fencing at the windows though, which does detract a little from the experience. Between the windows are informational signs about Seattle's history. I'll be back to check out the art museum and the conservatory in the future!

Because it's vast and it has so many little (or large) treasures that you find as you meander through the trees and flowers and pathways; there are duck ponds, sculpture, a city reservoir, large pastures, a botanical conservatory, a museum *the Seattle Asian Art Museum. You get the idea. I really enjoy this park every time I visit. Located atop a hill it also offers a lovely vista of Seattle.
