I went in and shared what I thought was the issue on 2 occasions a week apart. Each time, they correctly and quickly identified the issue. Anthony was very stand up about the work that needed to be done and didn't just tell me, he invited me back into the shop to show and explain the issues. All told, I had my alternator, struts, sway bar links and tires replaced quickly and without issue. Additionally, for those worried about estimates they might give, they may say estimate, but that ended up being what I paid both times. There wasn't additional cost and there very clear about being greenlit before doing any work. And on top of it all, Anthony offered me a ride back home while the work was being done and then picked me up upon completion. However, during the visit she was told that her Ford Focus required a replacement coolant reservoir. Midas charged $119.00 for the coolant reservoir and $30.00 for labor. After the visit, we researched the part pricing independently and found the same coolant reservoir available online for under $50, with multiple reputable listings--some as low as $17.99. The part number is 603-382. When we contacted the store to discuss the significant price discrepancy, we were told that Midas has no control over part pricing and that the lower-priced parts we found must have been "from China." No effort was made to explain the markup, offer a comparison, or provide any resolution. Given the substantial difference between the price charged and readily available market pricing--and the dismissive response when concerns were raised--we were very disappointed with the experience. As a result, we will not be returning to Midas nor recommending this location to others.

He said he was an honest mechanic that did good work. I needed an oil change and I had been smelling fuel upon starting my vehicle. I called and made an appt. I checked their website and "liked" them on facebook. I mentioned this on my visit and received a discount on my oil change. They also rotated my tires for free. They found the fuel leak and replaced a section of fuel rail that was leaking. Steve handles the phone calls. Tony does the mechanical work. Super nice guys. They aren't cheap, but they are better than the dealer. This is the only place I will take my car for service.

BUT living just down the street, I was really impressed that the guy just walked down with me to check it out - didn't like... charge extra for a "strolling fee" basically was like "yeah, we can fix this for you tonight!" and by 7:30pm it was FIXED! on a FRIDAY NIGHT! the real value is having times after traditional "work" hours so that you don't have to take time off just to drop your car off/be stranded. Super friendly, felt really comfortable and confident in their work. 10/10!

As someone who's watched his father tinker around building car transmissions for 20 years before…read moregoing into business (and kudos to him for making it very successful) rebuilding and selling transmission parts, these guys, although not in the same exact field (they're not transmission guys, per se) are 100% down-to-earth and do not beat around the bush. We've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years and probably have worked with them a dozen or more times. Inspections, oil changes, brakes, etc. all fair prices. Very fair. Last week we got top-of-the-line new tires as we're having our second child very soon. I mention to my wife, "while I'm out, I might as well swing by Frankfort truck and auto, tell them that the "tire place," tried to sell us on front and rear brakes and rotors and see if he'll give it a peek. This was a Friday afternoon in August. Muggy and as hot as can be -- I ask him politely, "hey, we trust you guys, we're having a kid soon, do we need branded front and back?" I wait ten minutes while he handles other customers (mind you, all along, he's updating me and apologizing for the wait, etc. PURE gentleman these guys are). He looks at my car, takes 5 minutes and says, "you could go 6-8 months on the front brakes, but your rear brakes and motors are fine." For the fact that we're having a newborn VERY soon, I'm bringing back our car this Friday to get the front brakes done. THIS WAS MY IDEA. He never sold me. Just facts. Probably most honest mechanics ever. No wonder they are usually slammed. Former Philadelphia Firefighter and former U.S. armed forces -- as a grandchild and nephew of many sworn in many capacities, I feel at home. We'll use them and only them unless we leave the area.
