Wow! I had no idea we had such a cool educational resource within an hour's drive of North Austin. Thanks to my son's Cub Scout pack, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Mayborn Science Theater & Planetarium at Central Texas College in Killeen last night, and I'm sure we'll be back again someday. YMMV on a regular visit for a film or laser show, but we were doing their special monthly "Snore and Explore" overnight sleepover ($36 per scout, $18 per parent, max of 50 participants) http://www.starsatnight.org/go-beyond/scouts/. This included several interactive educational exercises led by a knowledgeable teacher (who teaches math during her "real" job), viewing 4 different very cool modern films about science, astronomy, and space exploration, and spending about an hour having a guided planet and constellation exploration using the Uniview and Startalk functionality in the planetarium. The patience the staff showed to our group of rambunctious boys ages 6 to 12 was phenomenal, and their passion for the subject matter was obvious. If we lived closer, I'd definitely be interested in their birthday party packages and Family Membership (only $100 for a year, includes up to 5 people from the same address and gets you into almost everything for free for that year). Like another reviewer mentioned, this place has the A/C set at about 42 degrees, so don't forget to bring your sweater or Snuggie for any event. I was so glad that I had brought a jacket and a very fluffy sleeping bag for the sleepover. While you're at it, if you are doing the sleepover, be sure to also bring a good foam or even inflatable camping pad, as the carpeted floor has no cushion what-so-ever. Mayborn is a part of the Association of Science and Technology Centers, meaning they honor reciprocal memberships, and you may gain free or discounted entry if you're already a member of another ASTC member organization. Conversely, if you become of member of Mayborn, you may also gain free or discounted entry to many other cool centers, such as the Thinkery, McDonald Observatory, Houston Children's Museum, the Texas Museum of Science and Technology in Cedar Park, San Antonio Children's Museum, and so on. http://www.astc.org/passport/ Check out the available show catalog here: http://www.starsatnight.org/about/show-catalog/ Oh, and if you're into that sort of thing, you may be interested to know that Mayborn also hosts the annual GeekFest convention in August. http://www.geekfest.ctcd.edu/

Fort Hood is one of those bases you either love or you hate, and honestly, it just depends on what…read morechapter of life you were in when you came through here. I've been here plenty of times throughout my military career and every time I roll back in, it looks the same and somehow even smells the same. That weird hit of nostalgia only a soldier would understand. Nothing flashy, nothing new, just Fort Hood being Fort Hood. The memories tie you to it more than the place itself. Some good, some rough, but all of them part of the journey. Coming back through almost feels like stepping into an old photo you forgot you took. In all, it's one of those places that stays with you, whether you asked it to or not.

Fort Hood, now renamed Fort Cavazos is my second home. This military base will always be near and…read moredear to my heart. It is one of the largest military bases in the world ranking the largest by physical size against the others. Unique to this base, it is the only place where the U.S. can train two full armored divisions. Fort Cavazos (still trying to get accustomed to the renaming) has everything you need located inside the gates that you would typically find outside the gates in the neighboring "civilian" city. "The Great Place" is definitely loved by many and hated by some for various reasons; however, every place becomes what you make of it. The history captured in the many museums is worth exploring if you've never visited and interested in military history. Personally, nearly 10 years of my life was spent here and reflecting on the great memories and my patriotism keeps me returning. The continued progression and improvement is evident. #BeAllYouCanBe!

I call the office and what I didn't know at the time the office manager answered and was extremely rude from the start. She processed talking to her coworker in the background about me saying I wasn't going to pay the bill then told me to shut up over the phone. She then said she was gonna cancel our contract when I simply called up there to pay the bill and change some contact information so this doesn't happen again. Office manager wouldn't let me get two words out told me she wanted to call me a lot worse things then what she did. I asked to speak to somebody else and she refused me service and to pay my bill. Then as she told me several times that she is 71 yrs old and tired then started yelling about other customers personal and professional business. I finally came to the conclusion the conversation was not getting anywhere and at that point I had no choice but to hang up. I honestly hope that lady gets some rest and has a better day but I would not recommended this company to a personal or professional friend. I have never n all my life been scolded for trying to pay a bill and change info. And the one star was being nice!!!

The lady at the front desk is absolutely terrible! I don't understand why she still works there…read morefrom my experience with her, the other review on here and from other people who I have talked to about B & R. First of all, the lady at the front desk NEVER answers. I called multiple times and left plenty of voicemails, but she is impossible to get a hold of. Now for some context, I have never had a home that had a septic tank so I had no idea how they work or how a maintenance contract works so when the septic alarm starting ringing (during the heavy rains), I called the number that was on the alarm system cause that's all I could think to do. When I finally did get a call back from this lady, she talked to me so condescendingly telling me that only because their name is on the alarm, it doesn't mean that they are the contracted company. Well excuse me for not knowing who the contracted company is when I just moved in! She could have just said ok, let me see if we are your contracted company (which by the way they were as the previous owner had tried unsuccessfully to get them to call us to transfer the contract so why she felt she had to give me attitude about it was beyond me). Then after talking to her about the incessant ringing, it took her forever to get make me an appointment to have someone come out to see what was wrong. I had signed their ridiculous contract which said they were going to charge us if they had to call us the day before the days they were going to come out to do maintenance which is crazy because the only reason that I would have to need a call is because they say that if I have a dog, they would charge us (or not do the maintenance, I forget) if my dog wasn't locked away. So I don't know when you're coming and you're going to charge me for a damn phone call (like $20) to find out when you are? What am I supposed to do, just never let my dog out in case you show up?? Maybe I am wrong and that is the standard with things like this, but it seemed a ridiculous fee to pay for a phone call. Last, after I sent them back their signed contracts, I kept calling them over and over again to find out when the repair man would show up, so I got tired of being ignored and called them one last time to tell them to forget the contract and that their services are no longer required. Such a frustrating company or at least what a frustrating employee. Either the company is worthless or this receptionist lady (it seems) is sabotaging their business because I cannot imagine being able to talk to and treat customers like this if your intention is to stay in business.
