So good. First time here and won't be the last. We got the Celt Melt and the Dillinger. Both amazing! . Clean, cool place, friendly staff and delicious food! Bonus: live music during the summer and plenty of parking.

I was on my way to a winery and I needed some food badly! There was really nothing around, and I passed this spot and figured it would be the only spot I would see before getting to the winery in about 5 minutes. Being connected to a BP, I was under the impression it was just going to be some basic gas station food, but WOW I WAS WRONG!!! When I went in, there were many options for food, from popular packaged brands and several bakeries to a full restaurant where you could order fried chicken, sandwiches and many sides. They seemed to specialize in Boar's Head products, as well. I decided to order a fried chicken sandwich with pimiento called the Green Dragon and mac n cheese bites. Both were quite DELICIOUS!! Good challah bun, good chicken, and the Mac n cheese bites were a hit with the sweet & sour sauce. My friend and I picked up several reasonably priced desserts, such as an array of donuts, chocolate cake, whoopie pie, and a cookie. The glazed custard donut really stood out, but everything was awesome! I was pleased to accidentally stumble upon this place and was glad for it to surprise me in so many ways. I hope others can take advantage as well!

Literally in the middle of no where. Beautiful market/gas station. Had the chili cheese dog. Tasted great. Reasonable in prices.

Finally made it out to Dyke to try Maybelle's. I have seen them on both Yelp and Facebook. Their specials catch my eye, but have to plan ahead to make the drive. It is a good 25 minutes from the house in a secluded area of Greene County. I made on Friday to pick up dinner and take home. I ordered the Friday fish special. The fish was good. The batter had a kick. It was unexpected, but added a dimension to the food. It came with hushpuppies, but unfortunately when we made it home they were very mushy. They were out of cole slaw so I substituted their cajun potatoes. They were very good. They were well seasoned. I would hope people weren't scared off by the cajun name. My wife had the Celt Melt and it was the best thing we had. I would order that everytime going back. Overall a really cute store. It is a BP gas station, but converted the building to house a nice kitchen/restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Maybelles has everything you would expect at a convenience store including a variety of drinks, desserts, and coffee. They have a beer cave and a small wine selection. They do deliver into Stanardsville and Ruckersville on certain days. That might be a better fit for me due to the ease of pickup there.

Fantastic addition to the community! Not only is it nice to have a gas station/convenience store in Dyke, the deli makes it worth the drive from anywhere in the area. Folks are now driving 20+ minutes to eat at Maybelle's as opposed to driving into Ruckersville or Charlottesville. They have rotating specials (e.g. chicken and dumplings, fish, tacos, reubens, etc.), plus a standard sandwich, pizza, and fried chicken menu. My favorite from our visit was the Celt Road Melt. I believe they have started delivery on certain days around lunch time and could see this sandwich becoming a weekly treat. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Looks like a regular gas station on the outside but has a cozy dining area and restaurant. Delicious sandwiches and burritos.

It had been awhile since I had been here but I remember the food being better than what it was this time. I got fish and chips and it was good but nothing about it was wow. Family members got potato skins and wings that looked good but I didn't try (I'm dairy free so most of the apps were dairy). The cocktail menu was weird to understand; had happy hour listed but it was confusing what was happy hour, what was seasonal and what was "normal" and when we asked, the response made us more confused/like we were stupid.

After that she was pretty absent. my beef dip was dry and tough, though the onions and mushrooms were plentiful. My wife's liver and oinion was in a sea of thin juice , not a gravy. the butter portions (for the baked potato) were dropped into the juice, creating a mess to handle. my iced tea sat empty for most of the meal, she never came back. Overall, the claim of the owner's long and exceptional culinary experience was not evident here. He either lost his passion or is not actually here, ever. Basicly an overpriced Diner. Maddingly the waitress held onto the credit card machine and stared at the screen while I tried to pay. Is that intimidation for a higher tip, since the machine starts the suggested options at 20%? one and done, other options nearby.

Serving American classics with high quality and great hospitality…read more Sandwiched between two floors of antique malls, Jack's was the perfect stop in the day to get some no-frills nourishment. Their breakfast is incredibly generous and made with ingredients that were fresh, clean, and meticulous in detail. The design of their menu is just so promising with unique twists that are not unheard of, but just an elevated touch when it comes to American diner food as a whole. Things like truffle infused hollandaise, fried green tomato BLT, pairing balsamic with goat cheese, a blackened pork, even mushrooms on the breakfast menu all hint that people developing their menu are confident in their skills in offering something more when it comes to breakfast plates and sandwiches. Their homemade aiolis (highly recommend their pesto aioli) and hot sauce tie any dish together-- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Things made to this quality are not to be unremarked. Came in with friends so we can try everything on their menu, and we were pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Presentation, ingredients, preparation all elements that made our meals great and were evident across all dishes ranging from protein to carb. Details like toasted bread with already spread with butter, perfectly poached eggs, and brioche as the bun of choice were things we peeped. We would have left satisfied if these details weren't accounted for, but we were so impressed this became a revisit during our short vacation. Their space is greatly spacious, with an open drinks station so its just not pretentious. There is even a section in the front to pick up goods made by local artisans. This is a great place to dine in, no notes.
