Our Dog Toro was KILLED in the care of Happy Tails…read more This story is hard to share, but my wife and I want to share our experience with Happy Tails to help make sure it doesn't happen to another family. On July 12th, we lost our dog Toro while we were on vacation. Losing a pet is always hard, but it was especially difficult because Toro was killed when Happy Tails boarding house (in Sheboygan, WI) allowed Toro to escape and he was hit by a car and killed. When something like this happens, you expect to be treated with compassion, but Randy and Diana at Happy Tails did the opposite. We found out that Toro was killed from a family friend who went to look for Toro while we were on our way home. Happy Tails never called to tell my wife and I of Toro's death themselves, never expressed to us that they were sorry the incident occurred, or explained how this could have happened. When our son, Andrew, expressed that he thought it was disrespectful that we never received these calls, Randy's response was to say that after we spoke to our friend, he had not felt a call by them was "necessary, or prudent at that time." Even though their hours are listed as open 7 days a week, after my son said he looked forward to hearing from them, via email Randy also told us, "I hope you realize it's the week-end and nobody is going to respond until Monday or Tuesday." For nearly a month, my wife and I did not receive one phone call or any communication initiated by Happy Tails. Our only updates on the situation came when our son called and emailed them repeatedly asking for updates. This week, the check we received in the mail showed us that to Happy Tails, Toro's life was worth no more than a few hundred dollars. I hope this review helps others who love their pets as much as we loved Toro to make a decision about where they should board their pets. In my opinion, Happy Tails is not the place to do so if you value your pet's safety and want to support a business that treat pets AND people with decency.

They have followed our asks of giving our fur babies their required medicines and vitamins. They let our dogs have toys & stuffed animals with them and they have brushed our dogs on occasion. The dogs are allowed playtime with the other dogs. They've met us at the floor for drop off and pick up to help lend a hand with the dogs. They have allowed us to come inside with our dogs when doing both too. They are relatively close to us which makes things a bit easier for our family. I don't mind writing a check out to Kristine, we know that her and her sons are taking very well care of our dogs. We have been very happy with their services for our puppers.

We dropped our dogs off not only did they not let them be in the same kennel which they promised they would be, they were not allowed toys or blankets (dog bed). Rather we were told they will be sleeping on newspaper. We picked our dogs up and they were severally dehydrated and couldn't wait to get out of there.

She had always made me feel warm and comforted when things have been hard with my animals, my cat, especially. Today I was told to call Karen when I texted in my concerns for an appt. So I did so. Her lack of care and the tone of her voice with me/along with actually yelling at me over the phone about my potentially dying cat was absolutely mind blowing. If your place of work is with people and their animals you cannot treat people like that. ESP in times like this. I understand that this place has been going through a ton of changes, not enough help etc and I have been over -the -top patient in those situations. I was even late for work a few times because I wasn't taken for my appt on time. The issue seems to be (not that I'm condoning crappy treatment for this regardless) that I canceled two appts with more than enough notice because my cat was doing better with both treatments that I had picked up. Why would I still bring her in and cause her anxiety. The alleged "no show" that I was accused of can be described as I called days before and left a voicemail that I didn't need the appt anymore. I am so very heartbroken and disappointed in being treated this way today. Especially during a very hard time with my animal. Very sad. Karen should be ashamed of herself. You guys need to do better. My husband and I took our cat to this clinic for 10 years and it was fine for routine exams…read more However, once our cat had a medical issue we were no longer comfortable with their care. Two months ago we suspected something was wrong when Arthur lost a lot of weight and his litter box was very wet. We took him to the clinic, they took his blood and we waited. We called numerous times over the next week to get the results. When we finally got hold of the vet we learned Arthur was diabetic. They had us start Arthur on 2 units of insulin and come back to have his blood tested. Ultimately they said we should up his insulin to 5 units. They also recommended we change his food to a dry food with high carbs. After all this, Arthur became lethargic, had trouble walking up stairs, and clearly wasn't feeling well. We had to believe there would be better care somewhere else and a friend recommended a clinic with a good reputation for working with diabetic cats. The new clinic has made a big difference. They suggested a low carb wet food that is for diabetic cats. They pulled down his insulin to 4 units and gave advice on testing Arthur's blood at home to check his glucose level (which resulted in bringing him down to 3 units). Arthur appears to be feeling better with these changes.

The final straw came recently when my dog was brought there for a visit and we were charged for a fecal exam when the visit was specifically only for an exam to determine how much cerenia my dog needed. There were no concerns over parasites . It was not clear that this exam would be an additional cost until payment was due. Worse yet, an unprofessional response was left to my review calling out my dog's name which could have been kind of a privacy concern . I know it was the owner who responded because it was the owner who claimed to be the one who conducted the exam . This unprofessional behavior is something I have not seen before.​​

Training Central Bark Dog Training classes have been amazing…read morefor my dog, Hugo. Kristine does an excellent job of providing 'Parents' with what is needed to succeed not only to pass the class and get them certified but also provides tips and tricks on how to continue training with your baby each and every day. I started bringing Hugo for classes at 4 months old for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Class. He learned socialization skills and met some friends that he is in classes with 10 months later. He moved on and completed a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) class, a Nose Works holiday session and then to Intermediate Obedience. During one of our classes, we were able to take the dogs out into the community and see their training in local stores and in a Nursing Home setting. We met trainer Patty during some of our testing sessions and while on the Nursing Home visit. I'm looking forward to signing up for one of Patty's Therapy classes in the next 6 months or so. He will be starting the Elite Training Club in a few weeks. Kristine does an excellent job of providing 'Parents' with what is needed to succeed not only to pass the class and get them certified but also provides tips and tricks on how to continue training with your baby each and every day. Each week when I say "Time to go to School" Hugo runs to the garage door and can't wait to get in the car, see his 'friends' and go to work. I'm beyond grateful for Kristine and Central Bark.
