One of the movers damaged the wall while moving things out, and several items went "missing," including an expensive winter jacket. The company ignored our emails and had their phones disconnected for over a month, refusing to reply. They only started responding again when we got our credit card company involved, claiming to have been "off duty", and later saying they had "found" the coat in a truck (after over two months of it missing, and reeking of cigarette smoke). They never paid for the damage they caused to the wall either. An untrustworthy and unreliable company, do not use.

Here are the details of experience... I hired Energy Crew to move my one-bedroom apartment in July 2021. I provided a detailed description of my contents and received a quote of about $650 after tax for 4-6 hours of work. Energy Crew is Treigh Pugh. We spoke several times by email and by phone in order to make sure every detail of my move was clear and confirmed. In the weeks leading up to my move, there was an additional stop added to pick up a couch from a friend's home. Treigh confirmed the movers would begin at my friend's home at 9am, picking up a couch, then continuing to my apartment to load everything and then move it to a location downtown. On moving day, Energy Crew arrived at my address 15 minutes late. Treigh Pugh was there and in charge, along with a man and a teenage boy. I asked if they had any difficulty picking up the couch and Treigh was confused. After refreshing his memory, he apologized and admitted he had forgotten our conversations over the phone and by email to pick up the couch. I spoke with my friend and instructed Treigh to pick up the couch on the way to my condo downtown, after the loading process of my belongings was finished, making the couch the last thing to pick up instead of the first. It took three movers 4+ hours to load my items in the truck, which was the low end of their initial quote's time for the entire job. They finished loading my belongings into their truck - which was completely full. There was no room for the couch. Also, the teenage boy among the Crew remained mostly unmasked while indoors. They took a break after arriving at my new home. Then they proceeded to do a mediocre job moving my belongings. Using their wheeled carts ('dollies') they hit and damaged the walls all along my hallway between the elevator and the unit. I put down a $300 security deposit, and the building's concierge inspected the areas between the movers' truck and my unit before and after the move, then reports any damage to building management. More on that later. Upon finishing after 3+ hours of work unloading the truck, it was past 5 p.m. and the Energy Crew were ready to pick up the couch. It took them an hour, almost all travel time that I had to pay for. My concierge pointed out that there was damage to the walls in the hallway that was caused by Energy Crew which would almost surely mean my $300 damage deposit would not be returned. He simply said to me, "Don't pay these men." I felt like I had no choice. These two men and a teenager hovered over me holding a makeshift cell phone on which I was being told to pay up more than twice the amount I was quoted weeks earlier. I felt intimidated and pressured. I paid them $1600 that day. They left and I was unbelievably relieved that the day was over, having taken Energy Crew more than twice as long and twice as much as they had quoted me. A week later, I reached out to Energy Crew. The details of just about everything mentioned above was shared in an email, plus I had somehow lost a lamp in the moving process. After some back and forth, Treigh (still the only person employed at Energy Crew, to my understanding) decided to credit me $100 refunded to my credit card. I explained that I had yet to receive an estimate from my building on the damage to the hallway, which I'd be happy to share as soon as I could. I expected more compensation for that damage. After weeks of back and forth between myself, my building management, and Treigh from Energy Crew, I finally received a written estimate on October 5. The damage estimate was $850. I shared it by email with Treigh immediately. I followed up three times over six weeks and never heard from him again. Note: all of this occurred in Toronto, where I live, but next to my name Timmins is listed. Ignore that.

It took me a bit of effort to get a written quote, but overall David and Kharis were very easy to work with. I supplied furniture pads and a dolly, and I packed all my own boxes. I needed the movers to stretch-wrap the furniture and load the van. The movers Chansa and Danny called to let me know they would be a few minutes late for the 9am start time because of traffic, which was considerate. They loaded everything expertly in under 2 hours and even accommodated my request to keep the rear view mirror unobstructed (yes I know you use only the side mirrors to drive, but it was only my 2nd time driving a cargo van and I was antsy). The goods were packed securely through the long 6-hour drive, no damage at all. The guys were professional, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely hire them again.

He charged me a very good price (comparing to all other moving companies I called). He even agreed to help me pick up my wardrobe on the way (with a very reasonable charge). The 2 guys he sent, Augustus and Koji, were so kind, polite and friendly. They showed up on time and did their job very effectively. My previous apartment was on the second floor with very steep outdoor staircase and the place I moved to is a corner unit with a bit of a walk from the elevator. I was already prepared to pay extra time but they managed to pull everything off, including the pick up, in exactly 3 hours. I was so pleased with their efficiency and dedication to give the best service possible. All my stuff were handled with care. No damages, no irresponsible mistakes. I couldn't have asked for a better team to handle my move! So so so so happy!!! :)

Also stopping at a storage unit along the way out of the city. Big oof! We all know what Toronto traffic is like. However, Jason and his team put all my worries to rest. He also came to look at our place a few days before moving day to assess everything. On moving day, his team packed and wrapped everything very quickly. They were professional, asked questions, kept in contact on the phone during each process of the move and were very friendly. We originally asked for a team of 5 and two trucks but ended up with a team of 4 at the start and 1 truck. Reduced down to a team of 3 at our new place to unpack everything. We were charged accordingly to the changes. No hidden fees or BS, everything was told to us as changes were being made and explained again when the bill came. Prices were super reasonable for the distance. We provided water, gatorade (at both places) and breaks whenever the movers needed. People forget that this is a very physically gruelling task and my partner and I would have never done what they did in such a short period of time. We were so appreciative we even ordered pizza for them at our new place, while they finished unloading all our stuff. We had over 40 boxes and tons of furniture. 11/10 I would use them again and highly recommend them! They are true to their word "In and out".
