She is patient, listens to her clients, and comes up with ideas. The way she washes, cuts, treats, blow dries, are gentle and professional. The shoulder and neck massage during washing hair and after blow drying, is an excellent service to top off the service, and it is good. I've had my hair cut, styled, treated (Japanese perm), and the latest was a keratin treatment. All were excellent! I am so happy now she has her own hair salon (she deserves it), a nice one, and she is surrounded by a team of professionals. George is one of them, and he is the expert of keratin treatment.

It was difficult to stay comfortable during the visit. While I appreciate the work of my stylist, the air quality in the salon made the OVERALL EXPERIENCE UNPLEASANT. I hope the salon considers installing proper ventilation for the SAFETY of all clients. ***** This review is to WARN you about the air quality and excessive smell of PERM CHEMICALS at this place. During my recent three-hour service, I was subjected to strong chemical fumes, likely from the numerous perm services being performed. These fumes from perm services caused significant irritation to my eyes and nose, not to mention a headache. The excessive chemical fumes and lack of proper ventilation are alarming!

She is incredibly meticulous and detailed with her haircuts, wonderfully gentle and careful with washing, and amazing with hair color. You can tell she takes so much pride in her work and pays attention to every little detail. My hair is very difficult to cut because of years of processing, but she worked her magic. This is hands down the best haircut I've had in years! If you're looking for someone who is skilled, thoughtful, and truly cares about the quality of her work, I highly recommend Kiyoko.

I booked an appointment here a week in advance specifically for a layered hush cut after reading…read moreabout their technique. To make sure there would be no misunderstandings, I called the salon again the day before my appointment to re-confirm. During that call, the front desk asked about my hair texture, and I explicitly confirmed that I have fine, naturally wavy hair; she assured me it was not an issue and confirmed my appointment with Yuka. When I arrived today and sat down in the chair, Yuka took one look at my hair and flatly refused to cut it, stating, "I can't cut your type of hair. I never cut hair like this before." She suggested I rebook with their curly cut specialist, who was not even working today. When I reminded her that I booked a week out and specifically called the day before to confirm my wavy texture with the front desk, Yuka snapped back, "Why did you come here?" At that point, I cut my losses and walked out. It is one thing for a stylist to lack the technical skills to cut anything outside straight East Asian textures, but handling a client with that level of hostility and disrespect is inexcusable. To take time out of your week, confirm twice with staff, sit in the chair, and then be aggressively asked why you even showed up is appalling customer service. If your hair has any natural wave, curl, or texture, save your time and dignity and book somewhere that understands diverse hair types and treats clients with basic respect.

From there, we did an 10 hour transformation going blonde and honestly, that appointment bonded us for life. I've never trusted anyone else since, she's basically my hairstylist and therapist hehe Her balayage is SOOOOO good. It always looks natural, grows out beautifully, and lasts forever without getting brassy. I'm pretty low-maintenance, and somehow my hair still looks put together months later because of her work. Her haircuts are also super clean, and she's actually the one who got me into curtain byayangs and I've stuck with them ever since. What I appreciate most is how much she cares about doing things the right way. When I decided to go back to my natural color, she didn't rush it or take shortcuts. She slowly transitioned me over time and kept my hair healthy through every stage. I live in Los Angeles now and will literally fly home just to see her, that's how good she is! After 11 years, she's more than just my hairstylist, she's someone I trust completely. Highly recommend!
