Eventually, the masseuse switched out, and a male masseur took over. He was perfect--just the right amount of pressure, skilled in hitting all the pressure points. His long, deep strokes across my feet, especially around my bunion, were so soothing that I drifted off to La La Land... only to be startled awake by a loud snore. MY loud snore. Momentarily disoriented, I realized I had dozed off. I looked up and noticed the masseur, wearing a baseball cap, paused mid-massage, hands still in position. Embarrassed, I gave a light jerk of my feet, and he resumed the massage. I must've dozed off again, because once more, I snored myself awake. This time, I didn't jump--I peeked through half-closed eyelids and noticed something strange. The masseur seemed to be resting as well, head down, cap low, hands frozen in place. Another slight foot jerk prompted him to continue, and I stayed awake to watch. Sure enough, he adjusted himself and picked back up again. I can't say for certain, but it felt like he stopped massaging whenever I fell asleep. I sincerely hope that's not standard practice. If it is, customers deserve better--especially if we're paying for a full hour of service, awake or not.

Be leery when a person asks you to pay for a service before you have received it. 2. The man at the front desk suggested I upgrade to a more expensive massage. I declined and went with the basics, as this was my first time. 3. The receptionist led me to the room where I'd be getting my massage. The "relaxing" music was clearly from a streaming service, as I noticed a cell phone hooked to a speaker on the floor. 4. The room had an odd aroma and the carpet was soiled and a bit worn. When I looked at the massage table I noticed a peculiar covering over where a face pillow was intended to be. I asked myself, "is that a paper towel?!" Yes, indeed it was- see attached photo! 5. The massage therapists must have been on their lunch break as they were in the next room talking loudly and it seemed as if they were arguing! This made me tense and made for an unpleasant experience as the arguing continued for the duration of my massage. 6. No one told me that the massage therapist would be physically on top of me. There was no warning just a woman literally crawling on top of my body- this made me very uncomfortable as I just had a baby and am still a bit sensitive! On top of that she encouraged me to get a longer massage next time so she could do more for me- the constant encouragement to spend more money is discouraging. 7. Once the massage commenced, I got dressed and proceeded to the front. There the massage therapist was standing and asked, "Aren't you going to leave me a tip?! I need a tip!" Begrudgingly, I gave her a tip that she examined, sucked her teeth and walked away! I will NOT return to this location. I'd rather pay extra or drive a longer distance than to waste my money here.
