History
Established in 1996.
My husband, my kids and I moved to the Highland Lakes in 1986. I commuted to Austin daily, a 130+ mile commute, until deciding to open my own business close to home. In 1996 I started "May I Help You?", a personal services company. We offered a variety of services, with the most popular ones being Caregiving and Housecleaning. At the peak of my business, with 45 employees, a huge workload and no extra time, I was definitely ready to trim back significantly on Caregiving. We now offer Housecleaning, Second Home Management/ Maintenance and a very small number of Sitting/Companion clients.
The Second Home Management/Maintenance Program is very popular. We clean and maintain the house, wash the laundry, restock the refrigerator, and fix or have fixed any repairs needed. The second home is then ready for the next visit.
We also have a very large number of regular cleaning jobs.
Please call us if you need our help.
Meet the Business Owner: Carolyn D.
I am Carolyn Derington, the Founder of this amazing, God sent, company. My life has not been the same since opening the doors of May I Help You in 1996. Utilizing My Corporate Manager skills I was able to make my way through the Federal and State Guidelines of starting and running a business, however, there was a lot that I did not know. I have always given God the Glory for May I Help You, because whenever we ran into a tough spot or needed answers to questions that we didn't even know existed, God provided whatever it was we needed! In early 2000 the business was growing at a tremendous pace, we had 49 employees and had completely filled up our 2 story office building in Kingsland. Because all the employment laws change at 50, I started to scale back through attrition. I am able to better know, spend more time with, and understand my employees, who, by the way, are absolutely wonderful people!
