However, based on a recent DISTURBING experience with them, I am writing this review. MY EXPERIENCE Metro Heating is a company that installed my HVAC system over 10 years ago and has maintained it since then. Being a satisfied customer, I also had Metro service my boiler & radiator system. Upon hearing a disturbing noise from my boiler system, I called Metro to fix it. The problem was that I needed a new circulation pump. Their repairman, after calling Metro's office, gave me a cost to fix it of $1936.96. Being a bit shocked, I asked him what this cost was based on and what was the cost of the pump. He was unable to answer and simply said that $1936.96 was the number that the office gave him. Being fearful about the safety of the system and trusting in Metro (based on our long experience with their service), we reluctantly agreed to proceed. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT A few days later, Metro sent me an invoice detailing the $1936.96 as follows: Diagnostic fee - $99.00; Replaced Pump with Air Vent - $997.96; Drain and Fill Boiler - $840.00. I checked with Home Depot & Ace Hardware and found that the retail cost of the parts that Metro installed was only $213.95. Also, the repairman was at my house for only about 3 hours. Assuming a labor cost of $150 per hour (which is on the high side of what other companies charge), the TOTAL COST SHOULD BE AT MOST $762.95 - namely, $99 (diagnostic fee)+ $450 (labor cost for 3 hours) + $213.95 (retail cost of parts). THIS $762.95 IS IN STARK CONTRAST TO THE $1936.96 THAT Metro CHARGED ME! I wrote emails to Metro asking for an explanation and a refund based on an adjusted cost. The only explanation that I received back was that the $1936.96 came from a flat rate book. I subsequently reviewed the issue in a phone conversation with the Vice President of Metro who said that he would see what he could do. Despite follow-up emails that I sent, I never heard back from him and never got any response at all from Metro. Metro's web site says: "Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed". I WISH THAT Metro's CLAIM WAS TRUE!

The room temp matches the thermostat but the fan continues to blow cold air. Tudi sent several different techs a half a dozen times to try to solve this. The last visit I was told "this is the way it is and need to live with it". That seems counterintuitive for a heat pump to blow cold air. I am taking bids to replace the heat pump with a standard electric furnace. Check out your options before dealing with Tudi or you too may have to live with it.

(A neighbor had given us a very good recommendation on Triangle too.) The furnace/AC were not inexpensive but were fairly priced in comparison. We were scheduled for installation just one day before a predicted 90+ heat wave and our job was supposed to take 2 days, Friday and Monday. But they said they would try to get it done in one day. And so they did. They sent out a small army of technicians/ workers to break down the old system and install the new, and they finished the job by about 5 pm on Friday. The AC works great, the crew was friendly, nice and knowledgable and very tidy. After several nights without heat, a technician finally came out and diagnosed that two of the heating elements were not turning on. Instead of properly fixing the issue, he bypassed wires to the motor and charged me around $200. As soon as he left, my circuit breaker started tripping repeatedly. When I called them back, instead of correcting the wiring they recommended that I upgrade my breaker to a higher amp. I never had breaker issues before their technician modified the system. Because I still had no heat, I had to buy space heaters just to keep my small home warm, which caused my electric bill to jump to $776. I tried multiple times to speak with a supervisor named Jim, but every time I called I was told he was not available and would call back. Weeks later, I still never received a call. I finally had to hire another HVAC company to fix the problem, and they were shocked by how the system had been wired. If this is how they treat a customer who spent thousands of dollars on a system that was still under warranty, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

Rob was out here by 11:30 and had my furnace up and working again in under an hour. Literally a life-saver.
