Front desk people are not very polite. I totally get being swamped at your job constantly , been…read morethere m, done it. It's still no excuse for bad "customer service". Everything I've been reading from other posts are the same as I have experienced. Staring at comp. screen, not acknowledging you, etc. This is a minor thing compared to what I have an issue with. I had 2 appts scheduled for Mon (12/8/25) with prob estimated an hour between the two. I got there a half hour before my appt bc they needed "prep time" for me before the MRI. My second appointment was supposed to be with Dr. Glattes to discuss the MRI. Come to find out they kicked me off the schedule for the MRI because they didn't get pre-certification from BCBS. So they asked me if I could wait until 8 o'clock for the person to come into work to do the pre-CERT. I said yes, as long as we could get it done before my appointment with Dr. Glattes because that's the whole reason I'm here. They said there should be plenty of time. The person they were speaking of, gets there supposedly at 8 AM, and at 8:30 I went up to check on status and they checked computer bc they sent a message to the back and that person had not received anything back from BCBS and "they are gonna keep trying, but it was a Monday, and they don't cooperate as well on Monday," he said. It all ended with me leaving because they couldn't get the pre-certification and get the MRI done that day so that I could talk with Dr. Glattes. Not only did I take off work and have these appts appointment two months in advance, but I also missed out on regular pay plus overtime (I don't have PTO and I drove from North Dickson) Then they call me back today (2 days later, Wed 12/10) and first thing she asks is for me to verify with my birthday and I ask what this is regarding and she says "pre-certification for the MRI" OMG they still haven't done the pre-CERT!!?? Why didn't this take place weeks before I even got to my appointment? My deductible is paid up for the year and I'm not gonna be able to get back in before the first. I don't know if I will come back even though Dr. Glattes is fabulous. (Prior surgery) I can find a better operating office, that doesn't waste my time. Maybe they are too big and don't have enough staff not sure, and not my department! 2 stars because Dr Glattes is great.

Super bad first impression, thanks to bad front desk. I approached TWICE, with no response from the…read more3 receptionists working other than "someone will be right with you". (Both times) while all three started at their screens. Hmmmm. When I said this is the SECOND time I've been here this morning, (I had to go to tge lobby to find a bathroom, since nobody would speak to me) a blond woman finally offered to check me in. As I turned away there was lots of eye rolling and chatting between the 2 women. Hmmmm. What is their JOB? 2nd time there was not one other person there. No eye contact, just that horrible staring at screen dismissal. Hmmmm. I've been told the docs are great here. So I'll add to this review after I see one. But it was a TERRIBLE first impression. Once the nurse called me back (about 40 minutes after arriving), things were better. They did X-rays promptly, and the PA. who saw me was very nice. She gave good advice about a steroid shot, and agreed that oral steroids might be better, since I'm a musician with a long show today. No advice on PT., only solution was surgery, which was something we agreed won't work for me. If management would fix the front desk problem I could give this place a better review.

It took them almost 5 months ( I checked in often) to review irrelevant records and then they denied me care ( I called them- they didn't even have the courtesy of reaching out). Then they suggested I personally reach out to a different office ( clearly their understanding of how insurance and referrals work is minimal). Still in pain and at square one.

I decided to try Elite Sports Medicine on the recommendation of a family friend. I had a consult with Corrine, Dr Glattes' NP. She listened to my history and took X-rays and suggested an MRI scan. We discussed options, and I was clear that I didn't want mere pain management. I wanted to fix my problem as much as possible. The MRI showed 2 herniated discs, so she suggested fusion surgery. I wanted disc replacement surgery, so she ordered a CT scan to see if I was a candidate. Dr Glattes determined that fusion was better for me due to bone spurs and arthritis found on the scan. He scheduled fusion surgery for me in December 2025 when I had time off work during the holidays. The surgery went very well, and Dr Glattes and his staff helped me to feel prepared for it. I also have a bulging disc in my back, and Dr Glattes referred me to physical therapy to start with. Overall, I have had a very positive experience at Elite Sports Medicine. Dr Glattes and Corrine listened and explained the reasons for my symptoms. They are both compassionate and informative. They helped me find a solution to an injury that has given me pain for years. I am already feeling relief even though I am still healing. I highly recommend this location and Dr Glattes!

They were very accommodating in terms of allowing me to go one time, show me all the exercises to do at home, because my insurance deductable is so high that I could not afford in person visits. The actual physical therapist was fine, though her assistant came to my side with her mask below her nose (this is a mandatory mask building or at least was at the time of my visit). When I asked her to please raise her mask over her nose she accommodated, however, I shouldn't have had to ask a professional in the first place, when the building mandates masks. In addition, my experience with this company over the years has been that it feels like a factory. They show the exercise and walk away. They gave me one small band for home exercise and sent the exercise instructions to an old email address. I'd given them the updated one on my intake form. When I called (a second time) to request an additional band and an email to the correct address, the receptionist didn't answer the phone with the company name, just "hello". and seemed very put out with my request. I would not recommend this organization.

I was blindsided…read morewith a surprise $5,000 medical bill after two months while being misled the entire time to believe my insurance was covering my Achilles therapy. I found out they never verified my insurance before taking me on as a patient, continued rendering services without ever notifying me that claims were being denied, and let this massive bill rack up in silence. I only found out through a vague email from their billing department. My co-pay was taken at every visit, and the front desk staff even confirmed their system showed zero red flags, no notes that claims were being denied, no balance, nothing. Either there is a massive, negligent communication failure between their billing department and staff or this is an intentional method they use to take advantage of clients already in a stressful recovery process. In a medical business where insurance billing is a core function, failing to verify and notify patients--or even their own staff--is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. When I spoke with the billing manager, she admitted they had completely "dropped the ball" and further confirmed the lack of communication. Yet instead of making it right, she attempted to frame the standard cash-pay rate as a resolution (their same standard rate charged without insurance). This is a deliberate and deceptive tactic that highlights how far they will go to trap patients in a financially devastating situation, all for a few extra dollars, while completely avoiding accountability. This is a blatant example of misleading billing practices. No patient should ever be placed in this position due to a provider's failure to communicate. Surprising patients with massive medical bills is unethical, and not something I would have expected from MPower. This is not just an error--this is a systemic failure in billing transparency. I hope MPower does the right thing, takes full accountability, and proves they care about their patients by making this right.
