You cannot trust Ivy pharmacy to compound your medicine correctly, and if you can't trust them to…read moredo that, why are they even in business?
Playing with people's health, and live's so carelessly, is beyond my comprehension for a pharmacist.
I had blood work done that showed my levels on a specific hormone. They were low. They said I can do shots, or get a compounded cream. I settled on the compound.
My dr sent in a prescription for a cream to Ivy. I filled it, and used it with no problems for three months. Refilling monthly.
Their refill process was never easy. The QR codes on the packages don't work. There is no automated system. So I would call in the refill to an actual person, only to go later that day at closing, and they still hadn't filled it. So I waited there while they did so, but why call in a refill if they aren't going to refill it within 6 hours and still make you wait when they told you it would be ready?
Months later I went in for blood work to check all my levels again. I filled a new (4th) cream prescription that same day at Ivy, and applied it. I instantly started feeling very sick. It was a Friday. I kept applying the same vial of cream until my dr called the next week.
In those few days, I had been feeling rage, and major anxiety all day and night. Feelings of terror. Feelings of major unease, and doom. Major stomach upset. Body shakes. Sweating. I felt so sick and knew something was majorly wrong.
So days later when the Dr called telling me my levels were off the charts, I knew it was the cream. And they confirmed it.
I called them back later asking how to apply the cream correctly to adjust to my levels being so far off. They said to stop the cream all together bc it was compounded wrong, obviously.
I had gone back in for blood work and it showed my levels were at 150 when it's supposed to be between 20 - 50, normally.
That's 7x the correct amount, and like my dr said, off the charts.
That means that the latest cream ivy compounded for me, and I had applied for almost a week straight was so concentrated, and so over mixed that it made my levels skyrocket. And that the previous vials from that third prescription were also compounded too strongly, as shown in my labs from the three month checkup.
If I had stayed applying that cream for another month, and used the remaining vials up, I can only imagine how sick I would have become from the over dosage and the consequences of my body being AMPED UP on more than 7x the correct amount prescribed.
And when I called Ivy, to discuss any of it, she literally sounded like she was laughing, and she thought it was funny.
I don't think there is anything funny about mixing medicine incorrectly. Peoples lives are at stake when it comes to medicine being properly prescribed, and the pharmacist doing their job ethically, and safely.
Needless to say, playing with people's health like that is a deal breaker for me, and the pharmacist having such a careless attitude about the entire thing is enough to have me report her to the state, and the worst part about it, I don't think she cares one bit. Which is fine.
If Ivy wants to gamble like that, that is their decision. I don't recommend anybody use her, she has shown through two months worth of compounded cream for me, that she cannot mix medicine correctly.
That's 8 vials of medicine they mixed up wrong, miscalculated, and then handed over to me with a gleam in their eye.
I've seen enough for my own eyes, and she is not safe, or ethical. Deadly, yes. Safe? No.
