I ran into an issue today that I've never experienced and rubbed me the wrong way: In the clipper magazine, Maximum Tan inserted 3 coupons: $10 off a package, 1 free tan, and 1 free spa service (this is red light, hydrobed, and I think something else - so not tanning). My plan was to go day by day: day1, spa service. Day 2 free tan. Day 3 $10 off package. Why would I buy a package before using the free tan? So day 1, used the coupon for hydrobed. On this day Heather said there's $1 tans tomorrow. Cool. I go back the next day and tan for $1.10. Day 3, I go to use my other coupon for free tan. Heather said "didn't you use a coupon already?" "I said yes but that was for free spa service, not free tan" she said "yea no you can't use another coupon you can only use because then people just use the free coupon and dont come back so we only allow one coupon per year" I stood there shocked and said "ok I'll be back Friday". I walk to my car. No where on the coupon does it say you can't use more than one coupon per year! What a joke. I was at zoom last year and their price was cheaper .. I wanted to come back to Maximum because I wanted to alternate between beds and booths but to deny someone their coupon - totally different day - totally different service - is a joke. I thought this lady was nice until today but it was insulting today. I have never experienced this ever. I was going to come back on Friday for the last coupon for $10 off a package but after that, I won't support a business that does that. And it actually worked in my favor, as a lightbulb went off to call my gym / as my insurance pays a basic planet fitness membership and I called them - they have beds and booths and for $10 a month I can upgrade to the black card ... this place not honoring their coupons actually saved me almost $40 a month and they lost a customer and earned a bad review. I'm not sure is Heather chose this rule herself or its maximum tan. I really don't care. Like the other reviews say: rude place. I actually did think she was nice at first but I guess she looks at you like you're cheap if you use a coupon? Don't know, don't care, thank you for not honoring the coupon you saved me money. By the way. The PF black card : if your insurance doesn't cover a gym membership, it's only $24.99 a month. Still cheaper for the entire membership than coming here. read more

Been charged for months for a membership I canceled that the girls at the shop didn't do properly. Horrible service, no attempts by the manager to help or make things right. Will be going back to zoom like everyone else. read more

I'd like to be able to rate girls (and boys) on a 1 to 11 scale (or 1 to 69) but unfortunately conventional wisdom says you can give anywhere from 0 to a "Maximum Ten." So if you'd like to move up the scales a little bit, at least in terms of skin shade, this is the place for you. Perhaps the very best thing about it, during a Buffalo winter, is that it leaves you feeling warm as f*** for about alongtime hours. I can lift heavy weights these days, even up to a "Maximum Ton." Anyway, I absolutely love tanning here. Everybody has always been really friendly to me. The prices are on the high side, but so was my mother all those years she was addicted to weed, alcohol, smoking, and other drugs. And people wonder why I'm "Straight Edge." Only without the straight. Hi boys. Speaking of boys, I have indigestion. I need some "Maximum Tums." But higher prices, these days, that could be said about most quality tanning places. I'd much rather give my money to a little local place like this than to one of the corporate chains where the money goes out of the state and the employees are miserable. I have a huge tin of tanning lotion at home, it's in a "Maximum Tin." I really like doing the stand up tanning. Laying down for some reason makes me feel uncomfortable and has a tendency to burn my butt. Wanna see? No? OK. I like the way I smell afterwards. I don't really give a sh** what you say about it. If you're a boy (or a hairy girl) I recommend shaving off all your body hair before tanning (or wax or LHR, whatever, and I don't mean Heathrow), because, well, I think the tan comes out better if there's no hair, and also, well, hair is f***ing nasty anyway bra. Especially when a little curly one gets in your throat and stuff. Not that I would have any first hand experience of that sort of thing. I will never get rid of the hair on my head though. Nothing more than a "Maximum Trim." I bring my own lotion from Walmart and it works really well for me. This is a big no no in a lot of salons but these guys are chill about it. Not chill like Netflix and Chill but then, that's what Tinder is for. And since I've been coming here I've had the "Maximum Tinder" matches per day. I don't like going to Walmart but it's the only lotion I can really afford. If you can afford it you would be much better off (ethically lol) buying lotion from these people but I'm not in that category unfortunately. Funny story about Max Tinder matches though. Like, when I'm seeking girls I get my fair share. But when I change it to "seeking boys", and I sh** you not, I get 100 matches in an hour. Like, boom. Boys, right? Can't live with them, can't avoid being molested by them. #MeToo The hours are not always the best but they stick to them, much has more than I can say about a lot of places. And I come in here 30 mins before closing and they never have an issue with me tanning, whereas other salons have done. Also the really cute girl that I mentioned in my review for Viola's Subs in Niagara Falls also happens to work here. I promise I'm not following her around. Totally serious on the Me Too though. Too many times. Also Yelp have issues with sexism because they removed the last tanning review I did because "no first hand experience." Um, actually, boys can tan too. Nice assumption there. So guess what, Yelp. You get a pic of me, mid-tanning, now. Suck it. No not literally, though. I'm not even like. Into that. And stuff. Anyway all this hair removal and tanning is making me feel girlie. I might just have surgery and become a Maximum Tran. Would you still love me. read more

How difficult is it to put a chair in a tanning booth? Been going here since late January and everytime I'm told that request was made with the owners. "Owners, FYI, this is the last time I'm going to go out into the lobby to put on my socks and shoes. Won't see me again since you obviously don't care about your customers comfort and convenience." I am surprised that Maximum Tan wasn't loaded with positive reviews when I searched for them! They didn't even exist in the land of Yelp yet. Well thank goodness that has changed because this salon is everything you could want in a tanning salon. They are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, which is so important. I came in after a horrible experience at a different tanning salon and the young girl who helped me was extremely kind and gave me a grand tour of the whole place. She was very informative about each tanning bed and was right on. She thoroughly explained the deals that were being offered for the month of November and worked with me to make sure the one I chose was most cost effective. This place is by no means cheap but you get what you pay for. Great beds, nice ambiance, friendly workers and did I mention it's clean? They have different levels therefore different pricing for each bed. They offer lotions and also have complimentary sprays and lotions set up on vanities throughout the salon. I highly recommend this place. They also send out 20% or 25% off coupons often! read more

Went once and got a tan like I went for an entire month . They are clean and very friendly.

So rude!!! Not wearing masks even though the front door says "no entry without mask". The front blonde desk girl was so rude and sassy. Would never go back because of how rude she was. Made comments like "You're looking at me like I'm stupid but I know what I'm talking about" to my little sister. The worker is in early 20s, very unprofessional. Grow up. Called ahead of time and said it would be $12 and failed to tell us it's $25 for for the first time. Asked for instant level 2 and that's not what it is. My sister doesn't even look like she got any spray tan at all. Nothing but frustration and a waste of money. read more

Maximum Tan is hands down the cleanest tanning facility in the area. You rarely if ever, have to wait for a bed/booth, and the workers are super knowledgeable about their product. They have millions of lotions to choose from, and the girls are always willing to give you their personal input if you ask for it. I've been coming here since high school when everyone was way too tan for prom, and back then it was Advantage Tan. Since the new name and ownership, I have seen a great improvement in the décor and beds. The lowest level is seriously all you need for a good tan. The prices can definitely be expensive, but they do have a tanner's membership, much like a gym membership. It comes out to about 12 dollars a month for the lowest level bed of unlimited tanning. If you join their email they will always send you the best deals. In December they have their 'Buy One Get One' event on ANYTHING in the store. So you if you buy 6months, you literally get 6 months for free. This is good on lotions, one-day tans, etc. Seriously love Maximum Tan! read more

I took two people with me to tan this was my second time at this location. During the week I had referred at least seven people over there. Because my first experience there there was a young blonde that was very helpful and patient explaining everything to us. Yesterday I took two people with me we prepaid all three of us so we can go back to back so we wouldn't be there forever because they only have one spray booth. then after two of us go I am the last one to go and she tells us that there was another person in between now how would that be when you paid back to back all three people together and all three people were put on the list together. Then the tall girl with the dark hair the one that was working goes on to lie further and tell me that they were already on the list and we were told that when we walked in no we were told to come back in 20 minutes because someone was using it we paid back to back so we could all be done back to back so we could get out of there nothing was ever said to us so on top of lying she was rude. So as I'm leaving and she already knows I'm upset she says very loudly you have a nice day now so I didn't respond so she had the audacity to repeat it even louder like a two-year-old so as I'm walking out the door I said sorry if you wouldn't have lied none of this would have had to take in place.. But of course she acted like she didn't care and just went in and cleaned the spray tan machine. but it gets better because as I walk out to the parking lot one of the girls that were in there was telling me how she was ripping us up but like the girl said she outright lied to us. So instead of taking my niece and my daughter for a nice outing to go tanning this woman made it absolute miserable so before you think of going in there please think twice because none of us will ever walk back in that place again!!!!!!! I hope this wasn't the owner I dealt with because if it was that's pretty sad for an owner to act like a two-year-old!!!!!!! I love the Williamsville location! All the girls are friendly and knowledgeable . They DO know what they are talking about. You can't go in there like a spoiled brat and expect to get what you want... There are rules that need to be followed by everybody ! The girls are there to do their job!!! read more

I have already reviewed Maximum Tan, but for a different location. However, this is the location I always go to. Very clean, very strong beds, and very friendly staff. A bit pricier than most places but the cleanliness alone is worth the few extra dollars. If you tan frequently, I would recommend joining their tanning club. It is $10 a month for unlimited tanning. I only go during the winter months so I am not apart of this but it is a nice option. Additionally, I have never had to wait for a bed here, where as other places I've had to wait, especially during the winter/prom season. They have beds of all levels, stand up booths, and a couple of spray tanning machines. Finally, they always have specials going on. Every Sunday you can upgrade to a higher level bed for just a dollar, and they also have bogo deals occasionally throughout the year. This is the only place I will go to tan. read more

I really like Maximum Tan! It's a little expensive but they run deals and have options for packages. It's always clean and the service is very friendly. They are helpful at the desk, they will explain the difference between each bed, recommend how long you should tan for, they will even look up your past visits to help you decide on your session. They have some complimentary lotions out to use for when you are done tanning, which is nice. Another great thing I love about this place- I pretty much have never had to wait, or if I did it was never for too long. I love the highest level beds, but they're INTENSE and I think about $20 for one visit so I don't go in those too much, but it'll definitely give you a great glow.
