I had a bit of a trauma eating lamb somewhere, some time. There's this weird pungent taste and smell of the lamb and when I went to the restaurant and their menu, I saw that their lamb salpicao was one of the restaurant's recommended dishes. I had to ask the food server several times on how the salpicao was cooked, if they were sure it didn't have the pungent smell, and making sure the lamb was not rubbery. They told me to try their dish out and even told me that they wouldn't charge me if I get to taste the weird and freaky lamb taste. With the guts that I have, I tried their lamb and it was superb! The meat was so tender, the salpicao taste was close enough to a tapa flavour which actually brought me back to my memories of my grandmother's tapa, and there was no pungent taste! YAY!!! I paired my salpicao with plain rice and a salad and it was great! But, more than the lamb, I'd rave for the dessert. Flat tops buchi is one creative way of presenting a chocolate close to the Filipino tastebuds! So, if you happen to go for an adventurous food trip in Katipunan Avenue Extension, try Maximo! read more
