Nov 4, 2015 update:
After I spent $203 at Max Sports without being appreciated as a customer there on Oct 24th, I posted that honest review about my bad experience. The store owner, Mr. Michael M, pretended to be understanding at first and told me over the phone on Oct 26th that he was going to replace his cashier with someone better, and he agreed with me that the cashier who served me on Oct 24th lacked customer service skills. The store then offered me a refund of $8 as I requested. But then the next day, everything went downhill from there.
First of all, before the $8 refund was even posted to my credit card, Mr. Michael M messaged me on YELP and asked me "can you give us a 5 star ranking on yelp?". Then the next day he emailed me and Demanded me to remove my original review. He considers the issue "resolved", even though the $8 refund has NOT even been posted to my credit card yet. Worse yet, Mr. Michael M shamelessly thinks he has the right to Demand customers to remove honest reviews. --Everyone knows Yelp's official policy: businesses can NOT pay to alter or remove their reviews. Just because the store responded to a customer complaint and offered a refund, does NOT mean the customer's bad experience didn't happen. Suppose Mr. Michael M got cancer and underwent surgery to remove the tumor and recovers, does he then has the right to Demand the doctor to remove the cancer history from his medical records to get better life insurance rates? I think NOT! So, of course, I refused to delete my original review and told him I'd need to at least wait to see the $8 refund posted to my credit card first. Then the next day Mr. Michael M left a threatening voicemail on my phone and also sent me threatening emails saying if I don't remove my review, he'd file a lawsuit. --I have his message from YELP and all emails he sent me saved, so I can show his messages to consumer protection agencies and to my lawyer to show how Shameless Mr. Michael M is.
Secondly, to respond to Mr. Michael M's comment under my original Oct 25th review below: obviously Mr. MA didn't have any basic understanding of customer's privacy rights. Using a nickname to post honest reviews is allowed, as long as what's said in the review is true. What I said in my original review is 100% true about my experience in the store. Most people use nicknames to protect their privacy on the internet nowadays. Mr. Michael/Xu M himself's profile name here is "Michael M", but I bet he does NOT have his name spelled as "Michael M" in his passport and in his driver license!
Thirdly, Mr. Michael M said I made "false statement on a 10 years old reputable business". Can everyone see how Shameless he is? Doesn't his store still have the 2% hidden extra charge for credit card payments? And, as of today, he still does NOT have any sign posted in his store or the store's website to warn potential customers upfront about the extra charge for credit card payments. And, Mr. MA told me on the phone on Oct 26th that he agreed with me his cashier at the time (whom I made my $203 purchase from on Oct 24th) lacked customer service skills and that he was going to replace her with someone better. --So I wonder: Exactly Which Statement in my original Oct 25th review below was "false", Mr. Michael M?
Based on my horrible experience with Mr. Michael M, I'm now telling all my family, friends and thousands of coworkers to Never do any business with Mr. Michael M and to avoid Max Sports store like the plague! read more
