We appreciate Zola's initiative as fellow gelato lovers, because Unico really spares no expense to bring the best Gelato from Italy to Bromley's doorstep (those local to Bromley - be appreciative as others like me travel far to get a taste of the wondrous gelato). The actual store is owned and run by the very sharp and considered Elena Manfroni. As for the gelato itself my favourites are the Pistachio and Bacio - both also contain pistachio and hazelnuts (something very uncommon of other gelateria's as its quite a high cost!) The coffee flavour is good, and I also had a flat white which was delicious. Apparently the coffee itself is sourced from a store in Bologna. Everything here is prepared fresh daily and it really is a must stop for anyone visiting Bromley. Superb!

Yes, it's faux french and they go to rather obvious measures to make it seem very French, including hiring supposedly French staff, but that doesn't really matter to me. Why? Because Cafe Rouge offers decent food - I've never had a bad meal at the many branches I've been to - as well as a relaxed atmosphere and good service overall at a fair price range. This particular branch is on a corner, which seems to have the effect of making it one of the larger Cafe Rouges I've been in. Even when it's busy it never feels too claustrophobic and the lighting and ambience is usually pleasing. Everything I've ever tried has tasted good, even (and especially) the chicken and steak baguettes as well as the tartes. I'm quite happy to count Cafe Rouge as one of my local restaurants and I'll gladly be going there on a regular basis for some time to come. Mais oui!

There were 4 of us and wer found seating easily enough. It would have helped to have had a "seat yourself" sign, but the staff was friendly and let us know when we inquired. Once we found our seats and chose our desserts, some of our party went to the counter with our orders. The place was clean and tidy. The music was on the loud side and it would have been nice not to need to raise our voices to be heard across the table. It did take some time for us to get our orders. Fortunately we weren't in a hurry. Just about the time I felt like prodding one of our party into asking about our order, it arrived! All of our desserts looked amazing and not one of our party was unhappy with their choices. For what it is, I think this is a neat little place. I wouldn't have a problem going back, but definitely don't be in a hurry when you go in.

I absolutely love the Giardino special which is a combination of chicken, bacon, mozzarella and spinach! I am almost drooling just thinking of it!
