This place is now called Ruff's burgers. I very rarely have to write a review like this . am so disappointed in this place I cannot tell you. I came in to order a pastrami burger. The obnoxious waitress did not tell me that for another euros , I could get fries and coleslaw. No big deal. I've been in Europe for number of years and she was the number one nastiest waitress I've ever encountered. She obviously cared nothing about her job. Onto the burger. I've had a larger burger in a happy meal at McDonald's. The pastrami, if you want to call it that, was extremely dry.And how do you called this pastrami? I added some truffle oil just to make it juicy and edible. There are, three strips of burnt pastrami on the burger. The burger itself is smaller than my fingers. Are you serious? This amount of money for this kind of burger? They obviously are appealing to Americans with English signage, American music, and even a picture of their food truck. Shame on you! Hire a staff that cares about the business and provide a quality product. I will never return. read more

I can't really say much about this place that the other reviews haven't already captured. I would go out on a limb and say that by far the best burger place in Germany; I would even say it's better than most burger spots in the U.S. I would say, however, that the burgers are almost "gourmet" in the way in which it is cooked, garnished and presented. Therefore, I am staying away from comparing it to a Shake Shack, In and Out or Five Guys. The price is the other upside to this place. For a great burger, a beer (they have a nice selection from some German "microbreweries"), and fries, you're paying no more than 20 Euro per person. I think they recently added some "experimental" items on their menu. I've tried them and would personally stick with the burger selection. read more

Fantastic meal. We had several great hamburgers- with fries and great Bobby Brown milkshakes (European style, extremely runny!!). The service was terrific, and the wait staff all spoke English, as well as German, with some speaking Russian as well. They had a bar/bar area and regular dining tables, with a smattering of large tables/booth options for parties up to 10. Very fun!! Highly recommend. read more

Definitely the best burger place I've been to so far in Bavaria! Max & Muh definitely does a great job of offering fun and different burger choices, everything from the toppings, to the bun, to upgrading to the premium beef, and even vegetarian choices! My husband got the burger with halloumi cheese, bacon and guacamole and practically inhaled it. I chose to upgrade to the higher quality meat for mine- but I'm not sure it was worth 3€ for what was a 7€ burger. Just doesn't seem priced right AND while the meat was good, it didn't knock me over. My burger had the Austrian cheese on it, and a sauce (I'm forgetting what they called it) that was AWESOME. Perfect spread for a burger. We both were extremely pleased. The beer selection was amazing too. He got a pale ale, and I had the brown ale- we were both pretty happy! My two complaints are that they don't take cards, which yes, it's Bavaria- understandable- but it's a hip and new place, I feel like it's just sheer resistance at this point not to have that when around the corner there's a whole town center of shops and restaurants that do. This isn't the middle of nowhere. My other complaint was more of an eyebrow raiser. The fries. You could get a personal portion (100 g) for 1,99€ OR a pound for 3,99€-- so for two people, it was cheaper to get more than double what we would have gotten of we'd each ordered fries (and paid more). So overall, I think their pricing on certain things is a bit weird, but that's just a detail thing. The food was amazing, and for two burgers, the meat upgrade, three beers and a pound of fries, we were under 35€. Not bad!! We will definitely be coming back again and again. read more

This is a GREAT, Ameri-style burger joint, with a hippie flare and some good ol'd Fashion Deutsch Love! We are a fan of burgers, and these burgers did not disappoint. They have plenty of options and tastes to match what you are looking for, there is a patty for an extra 3 euro that is all natural grass-fed and worth every penny. The serving sizes are perfect and the rest of the menu is fantastic too. The jalapeño relish is worth a try, the different sauces are great and worth a try with a spiral potato (must try)! Vegetarian options taste good too, for those who are not inclined to eat meat with their carnivorous family members! The coffee and dessert menu are up to par as well. Coffee is pretty good, awesome Cappuccino, and the milkshakes are very 'Bavarian', and masterpieces in their own right! read more

Let me start with the positives: The beer selection is much better than 99% of restaurants in Germany. The burger and side dish variations are also excellent. The cole slaw had a nice horseradish note to it, which although unexpected, tasted very nice. The sweet potato fries were outstanding! The music was also very cool. Now the unfortunate negative: The burger patty was cooked to a perfect medium, was well seasoned, but had that rubbery pre-formed patty consistency. Super disappointed. A dedicated burger establishment like this should serve better quality beef patties. That's the reason for the two star subtraction. Sorry guys. Excellent burger patties are loosely formed and juicy as hell, not rubbery and firm. Otherwise, great place to grab some food and through back some beers. read more

Wow what a crappy burger! I should just stop there but I will go on. I ordered 4 different burgers, fries from them. The fries are decent but not worth almost 40 euro for my family's dinner. I've never had a burger patty that was chewy and tough to eat in the sense that the meat was cooked to hell and it was absolutely garbage. Never eating here again and get this - they charge you 2 euro for tap ice water! I guess they really need to pay the rent. If you want a great burger go and eat at mamas burger they are way better. I had almost hoped this place would be good but alas it sucked! To the restaurant- if you dont want to keep losing customers stop cooking tough to chew meat and stop overcooking the patty. I'm no professional but a reasonable person would tell to stop overcooking it. Key tip dont charge people to drink tap water at your establishment that's just a really cheap move! read more

I'm not a highly negative review kind of person, but this place has driven me to pull out that pen. I am forgiving of things going wrong in the kitchen, and an intermittent or one-off service issue, but clearly this place has deeper issues on both fronts. Initial greeting was distinctly rude, but I chalked that up to the server having something else going on. But it took about 10 min to place an order (not much worse than average for Germany), but then the *hamburger* took 40 min to come out. A 1/2 inch thick hamburger--something that shouldn't have spent more than 5 min on a running grill. And when it came out, my first sign that something was amiss was that the accompanying fries must have come out of the frier before I had arrived--they were distinctly chewy and mildly warm. And then I tried biting into the burger. That took effort. A little bit of a crust on a thick burger can be nice, but on a 1/2 patty, this made for shoe-leather texture. I pulled the burger from its accompanying bun and toppings (which appeared nice, making sense because this is a specialty burger place), and discovered that the patty was clearly overcooked, especially on one side. Pink had left the building several minutes before this got off the grill. So, I was about to just leave some money and start over somewhere, when the much less neglectful and rude server (than mine) came over from serving other tables noticed my plate pushed to the side with burger puck extracted. She offers to replace it.... 20 minutes later round 2 arrives. Fries are fresher, but were clearly in the frier way too long. The burger. Oddly rubbery. Not overcooked per se (medium by color). But dense and rubbery like a breakfast sausage patty when you press on it with the spatula way too much (which is my best guess at what happened). The solution I found points to the only positives of the meal--I ate the burger without the patty and it revealed the bun and toppings were indeed relatively good/gourmet-ish, and the actual best part of my food (this was no longer a meal) was the shallow 2" diameter dish of cole slaw (which was legitimately tasty). Returning to the failed service--no one ever asked if the second effort was any better. I ended up leaving more than the appropriate amount and left 15 min after the second round arrived. Maybe you will have better luck, but I'd never let anyone I know eat there unless they had a morbid curiosity. read more

They only take Euros and no cards. The milkshakes are really just sweet milk with ice. It tastes good but if you're looking for a classic vanilla American type of milkshake I would look elsewhere. It's a pretty nice place but it gets busy so I think the servers would prefer you to make a reservation. Parking near here is great there's a garage very close. And the burgers and drinks are okay. Slightly overpriced for what you're getting but still very good. read more
