It was a fun night. We, family of 4, got here at 4:30 on a…read moreSunday. It was busy! We put our names down for the first available lane which wasn't until 6. So we grabbed a table and ordered some food off of their limited menu. Between the 4 of us we had 2 bacon cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, fries, and country potatoes. The burgers were huge! The chicken nuggets were nothing special. In fact my kiddo said she wished she hadn't gotten them although she ate about half because she was hungry and it was supper. The country potatoes were mini wedges. Hot, crunchy on the outside while soft on the inside. And served with a sour cream dip. The food was good! And they have iced tea. Not unsweet black tea like I've been wanting but fruit teas. I had a lemon iced tea (zitrone) that was good! More lemon than sweet so I was happy. Bowling was fun. It is only 8 lanes which is why we had a wait. All the balls are already out on the lanes. So you can use whatever ball you want. Shoe sizes are not American, so know your size before you go. I wear an 8 1/2 American and got a 40. It was too big. Just to give you an idea. There are pool tables and a couple dart boards there too. It was a fun night. Something to do on a Sunday when everything else is closed. There is only 1 employee who spoke English. A couple of times the others had to get her when we were trying to communicate. But it wasn't bad! Friendly service, hot food, and a fun time.

If you've been looking for a Tiki bar during your trip to Carlovy Vary, look no further!…read more It attracted my attention during my visit of Karlovy Vary as a place that looked like it could be into Tiki coctails, so when at the end of the evening I had an opportunity to stop there with some extended family, I absolutely jumped on the opportunity. And oh boy was I not disappointed. While the decoration is not on the level of pioneers of the Tiki revival, the bar fends off for itself pretty well and boasts a massive wall of various alcohols, liquors and infusions as it's bar - that is put to good use in its menu. In addition to several expected classics and a couple of local riffs on different Tiki themes, they also have a special Karlovy Vary blend - served in a typical mineral water drinking cup and based almost entirely on different Becherovkas. While I got that one as a meme, it actually was surprisingly delicious - a pity the recipe will be kept secret by that spot for a while! The namesake cocktail of the Bar (Barracuda: rum, galliano, ananas and lemon juices, prosecco) was quite great as well - I was really not disappointed. With all of that, the price remains still reasonable (by western standards), so my final take is that it's a pretty amazing spot!

I also ordered the cappuccino, which was quite good as well. The Schatz enjoyed his beer. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that I left him there to order seconds and thirds! The décor is quite clean and modern, and the café offers plenty of sitting room. The staff is very personable and friendly. I look forward to visiting again soon!
