For the Yelper who mentioned that there was no hypnosis in the show, I have to politely disagree. I was absolutely hypnotized by how tight Max Major's skinny jeans are. Hipsters beware, he will put you to shame! Back before I was Community Manager or even Yelp Elite I used to enviously read other Yelpers reviews when they got exclusive access to Max Major shows in the city. My cousins and I used to geek out on magician shows as a kid so when the opportunity came for me to check out one of Max's show I jumped on it! I bought one of my besties who is not as easily amused as I am but I sneaked a few peeks at her during the show and definitely saw some O faces of wonderment. The show has the elements of a good time: Gore - Russian Roulette with a staple gun? Your night immediately got more exciting. Celebrity - I won't spoil it for you but be prepared for a celebrity guest appearance. Laughs - Max is super funny and down to earth. Even my ADD was kept in check for two hours! Education - Get schooled on the art of psychology by the mentalist himself Surprise - So...many...surprises.... and if all else fails.... Alcohol - If you are lucky enough to get pulled on stage, you can partake in whiskey shots with the dashing host. Max Major is a mentalist, he is a master of influence and phycology. He is brilliant. His personality completely different from any magician I have ever met. He lightening entire auditorium with his charming smile and super friendly personality. He "doesn't wear crown" on his head like everybody else who as popular as he is. Had family in town and bought tickets to see Max Major perform his Mind Reading and Magic Show at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. Awesome performance and venue! Max did an excellent job engaging his audience and transitioning from trick to trick. Definitely well worth the ticket price and there's nothing like his show in the Washington DC area. I first saw Max doing some roaming magic tricks at an expo and knew I wanted to see his whole show so I took some friends and family to his recent performance at *The Winery at Bull Run. EVERYONE loved it! He is so charismatic the whole audience is included and engaged. His easygoing banter makes the show fresh and spontaneous while keeping him friendly and approachable. (It doesn't hurt that his deep v-necks remind me that he was voted DC's hottest bachelor.) I find myself still thinking about the different tricks and talking to new people about it. I keep wondering "How did he do it?" This is not your average magic show. He uses psychology and mind reading so the show is always unique. I can definitely understand why he has been named DC's Best Performing Artist for three years in a row. After seeing Max perform a few teaser magic tricks at a party I attended, I decided to go see his full length show at The Winery at Bull Run. I'm so glad I did because it was truly a unique and entertaining experience. Max is so charismatic and engaging and the magic tricks he does are unbelievable! A star in the making! Max Major commands the stage but the thing I really liked is that he definitely isn't your typical magician. From mind reading to body language and magic this guy knows his stuff. Max seems to be enjoying what he's doing and it shows. My friend came to DC to visit from Boston... I decided I needed to think of some kind of show to take her to, especially since it is 100 degrees outside. I saw a poster in my office for the THINKtour by Max Major - I figured why not I mean magic, mind reading seems cool and I rarely have the opportunity to do something like that. The show was at the Atlas on H which is an awesome venue! Tickets were very fairly priced and it was great because we were close to the stage. I knew it was going to be good by the mix of people in the audience, 20 somethings like me, parents, kids, older couples and teenagers. Rarely do you find something that draws all age groups. The show itself was hilarious and incredibly entertaining. 90 minutes flew by and I was actually lucky enough to be called on stage, given a funny Magician name and actually somehow pulled a lime out of an empty bag??? Max Major was on point with keeping the audience engaged, changing up the types of things included in the show and getting the audience to participate. I would HIGHLY recommend going to see it! Max Major Remote Control on Zoom - Entertaining for about 5 minutes. Then you realize the entire show is based around 3-5 households who are "randomly picked". He doesn't even address everyone in the audience. Don't waste your $, you can see his tricks on YouTube for free. read more

We went out to one of the shows out at the Winery at Bull Run. The show had a high potential to be lame, but because it got good reviews online, we decided to give it a shot! So glad we did. The show was very entertaining and we are still left wondering how he was able to pull off some of his "illusions." (Not tricks, that's something a whore does for money). Max Major is a great performer and takes the stage with confidence. For being a local performer, I was impressed by his level of skill. I only wished that the show was longer! Would definitely go to another show. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? I think 5 star reviews are usually fake. It was a wonderful evening, where Max captivated the guests with a few well timed tricks that got everyone talking. We had a tight schedule for remarks and presentations, and Max stuck to that timeline and quickly adapted to last-minute changes. He made it all look smooth and polished. He charmed our guests and put them at ease, while keeping the tone dignified. A friend and I saw Max's show at the Winery at Bull Run on Friday the 18th and it was great! I was a little skeptical that I'd be entertained for 90 minutes but Max was funny and as another yelper mentioned, the skinny jeans were a plus. I digress... The show was thoroughly entertaining from the start. He didn't come across as a schmoozy magical dork but he explained the science behind his performance which made it even more interesting. He also picked from all over the audience for participation and kept things random to demonstrate his skills.
