Had front end work and new tires put on by them ,BIG MISTAKE on my part, in December 2025. Went in this morning because the new front left tire was completely flat 2 days in a row. The incompetence of everyone there is beyond ALL comprehension. They don't know LEFT from RIGHT or driver's side and passengers side. Even the "manager" woman promised to fix the correct tire for free no matter what. When back again just to find out they checked the wrong tire AGAIN. Ended up taking it to a different shop and they fixed the leak. VERY HIGHLY recommend finding a different shop. Better service and quality than here. Ended up being a simple valve core. Also called after we got it fixed and the manager didn't care so we told her we would write a review and she said she didn't care. Quality service is not to be found there. read more

Every time I go this this place there is a problem! I bought a full set of tires there and I had to take it back 3 times for issues. Then they left off/lost 4 of my lug nuts. I took it back AGAIN and what they put on was a different size. I just called about a tire and was quoted a price so I drove up there only to be told it was going to be over $50 more that what I was told. No one there seems to know what they are doing or care. Dishonest and overpriced service. Avoid Mavis on Schillinger Road. I went to Mavis for a simple tire repair after my husband got a nail in his tire. An associate immediately and wrongly told me we needed a new set of tires, even though they were recently purchased. Then, they claimed the vehicle needed a new battery, contradicting the car's diagnostic and the dealership's later assessment. I was charged $330 for this unnecessary battery replacement. They also quoted an outrageous $135 for a standard 5-quart oil change, which my dealership later did for just $90. This was a clear attempt to upsell and mislead a customer. My husband took our vehicle to Mavis to replace the rear brakes because a different brake shop had told him last week they needed to be replaced. He was in a hurry and instead of returning to that shop, decided to stop at Mavis because it was on his way to his next stop. Maria at Mavis took a look at the brakes and explained to him that the brakes were just fine. She could have easily replaced the brakes and not said a thing. I came to Mavis Tires because while getting my oil changed at a different business, they ended up breaking my air valve while checking the tire pressure so I essentially got a flat tire. I told them the whole story about what happened and how they didn't even finish my oil change (a whole different fiasco) and they fixed the air valve for free. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!I got all new tires and wheel alignment. noticed when I got home the stick on balance weights was put on my dirty wheels. they was hanging (almost falling off) because they didn't take 1 minute to wipe the wheel surface clean. i took it back up there to fix it. they did not remove the old weights just added new ones in different locations. which tells me the wheels were never properly balanced in the first place. also the old weights they installed the first time are still loose and going to fall off in the future. after the second time I left. I called Brandyn I told him what was going on he was very RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL AND HUNGUP ON ME. I will not be back at this location. I took my car into Mavis Tires on Schillingers in Mobile AL. for a tire rotation and maybe a tune-up. They said they could do the tune-up. I went to pick up my car that afternoon and they said it had caught fire on the catalytic converter and recommended that i have it towed to a muffler shop. I paid 880.00 for the tune-up and had it towed. I had two new catalytic converters put on and started it up and it sounded like crap, it was missing and backfiring. I took it back to them and they stated it was nothing they could do. I took it to a real shop and they re-did the tune up. Mavis had put in only two coils when it has six. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Went in for what should have been a simple A/C Repair on a Volkswagen Jetta and left with my car looking like someone intentionally ripped pieces apart. I had to take it to the VW dealership so that they could do the repair correctly and even rewire some things that the Mavis mechanic did incorrectly. Oh, and I dropped my car off in May and didn't get it back until July. They (Mavis) took the car to three different places to try and "fix" it. The pictures attached show just some of the damage. They tried to repair dash that they damaged and covered up the passenger airbag sensor because they ordered the wrong part. The manager then lied and said I knew they used the wrong part. ( Compare pics. Note one has a sensor light. After covering, one doesn't.) The on-site manager was very unfriendly and rude. (I will note that this happened in 2020. I took my wife's van in on Black Friday to replace all 4 tires. When I inquired about replacing the valve stems, I was told that I would also have to replace the TPMS sensors, that they were part of a kit. I said fine, go ahead. The following day on a road trip, the tire pressure light on the dash started blinking, which indicates a faulty sensor. Brought it in today and was told that they had not changed the sensors, just checked them, but they had changed the valve stems (which I was told couldn't be done on Friday). Then I was told that only one was bad, so I guess they didn't actually check the sensors like they had said. Ended up getting the one sensor replaced. However when we got the van home, my wife noted that someone had obviously rifled through her console, as items that she hadn't touched in months were on the floor and the compartments were not closed, as they had been when we dropped it off. It didn't look like anything was stolen, but there was nothing worth stealing. It just pisses me off. I trust that you will have a talk with your technicians. read more

Sunday I decided to get my oil change on my 2016 Chevy Malibu. Keep in mind I've been to this location several times due to it being closer to my current location. Walk in to an unfreely greeting, yet another customer walks in shortly after and received a very warm greeting. This guy is checking my vehicle history and seems to find something funny. Didn't pay it too much attention but here's the shocker...I asked how much would it cost. Guy stated $105. for my oil change...he stated its due to inflation...WOW!!! no way!!! Called the Mavis on Cottage hill-gave the details of my car- their total cost was $75. I've been to three different Mavis tires in Mobile. Sunday 9/4 was my worst experience. They have officially lost my business. Sticking with Walmart. Got a set of RainX windshield wipers and oil change for under $70. read more

When I told them that they weren't rotated they were like "Oh I'll do them right now." Absolutely not. To claim that you have done a service and to not do it could put lives on jeopardy. Do better. My wife has a 2017 Honda Civic. She's been servicing at this location since she bought the vehicle. Never had any issues. Skid pan has never dragged or rubbed or sagged. The last time we went to change the oil, July 2023, they did not reattach the skid pan correctly. I did not check it myself when we picked it up, and it fell down dragging on the interstate while we were driving out of town. I zip tied it up to get back to Mobile. I went back to the location and told the associate about the situation, and he claimed zero responsibility. He said that that happens all the time and they're not responsible for the skid pan. He told me that if I went and bought the clips and the screws that then he would put it back the way it was supposed to be. Well hell what did I pay you for then? It was the way it was supposed to be when I brought it to you. I'll do it myself. We will no longer be doing service here or at any Mavis. It's a shame that a few plastic screws and clips could not be put back on the right way. If they can't put the skid pan back on correctly, I wonder if they've even been changing the oil correctly this whole time. read more

Brought my f150 in for a simple brake job. $1500 later, I had no brakes because the mechanic didn't understand that you can't put brake calipers on upside down. Spent another $500 elsewhere to fix their screwups after they tried selling me an unneeded brake booster. The mechanic is a clown, and management would'nt even respond or offer a resolution. DO NOT let this happen to you. They are incompetent, do not stand behind their work; and have the customer service abilities of a dead mouse. My next move is a lawsuit. Almost 3 hours and not even touched. Very poorly run business. The excuse that was given was that they had people out sick. Should not have wasted my time if they were not capable of doing the work. I'd give them a 1, but they did call me to let me know they ordered my tires but forgot about the holiday so it would be Tuesday instead of Saturday to get them in. I called on Tuesday and asked if the tires had arrived. They said yes, so I took off work early. Upon arrival, I was told they only had two and not a full set, so I left annoyed. The next day they called and said the tires had arrived. Great! I brought my car in, left and left it. When I came to pick it up, I paid and started looking over the receipt to find the mileage warranty. I didn't find it, so I went back inside and asked them to show me. The guy told me it was on the back of the page. I looked and there was a whole bunch of text, but I still didn't see the 50k mileage warranty I was told these tires came with. I asked him to show me where in the text it was. He said he didn't know, so he took the receipt and looked over it. He saw I declined the road hazard warranty he offered to me that morning and even began man-splaining to me what road hazard is. I claimed I denied the mileage warranty. I said no I denied the road hazard which is something else. He proceeded arguing with me. He claimed he was the manager, but also couldn't tell me doesn't know if Michelin tires come with a warranty the ones I bought didn't. He continued lying about what the road hazard warranty covers (saying it covers what the mileage warranty does) and finally he got pissed that I was calling him out on it. So, he asked me to leave. Purchased many tires when this was Trax and well treated and satisfied. Went here a few months ago to get routine balancing and they damaged lug nuts due to improper wrench and over tightening. Unable to remove lugs so I went back for assistance and they loosened and I tightened with my lug wrench. I had to order all new lugs at my expense. All ok now! I am very disappointed because they are very convenient location and employees are courteous. I have found over tightening of lug nuts to be a common problem at tire shops over the years. I never had this problem at Trax. Trax told me that they used a Torque Stick ? to control tightness of lug nuts. I never had an issue with being unable to change a tire with my lug wrench when dealing with Trax! read more

Made an appt. Got there 30 minutes early and was there for 3 hours waiting on my vehicle to be completed. Upon them charging me 180$ for services in which 99$ was an alignment that from my understanding was a 4 wheel alignment they never told me it was some laser computer align BS that last for only 3 months... or 36k. Ridiculous! On top of it all, whoever drove my car curbed my 1000$ rims and they are saying it can be fixed??? Excuse me? Why should I have to deal with a repaired rim after spending 3/1-2 hours and 180$ for services that wasn't even what I asked for in the first place? You have to be kidding me! Zero stars. Terrible experience, two times. First time, Online I selected my tires and scheduled and appointment. I dropped my vehicle off at 6 AM (I just got off after working Night shift) and after leaving with them until 1PM, they didn't have the tires I ordered, they sent the wrong brand and style tire I ordered...Really??!! Second time, after discussing my issue with the Regional Manager, I once again selected my tires and scheduled my appointment. I dropped of my vehicle at 8AM for a 09:30 appointment and told them I'll pick it up at 2PM. Mind you they advertise a "3 Hour service time" so I'm giving them more than enough time. I show up at 2PM and my vehicle hasn't moved, when I questioned the same guy I left it with, "well other people had come in" So what does having an appointment do for me??? There has been a management change and the new guy has been there for 2 days. I told him and the Regional Mgr that something is very wrong and broken with this location. Trax Tires was great, Mavis will not be seeing any of our vehicles there again. Oh, they did give me a $20 / tire price reduction for the 14+ hours they had my vehicle, which when they took it back, it only took 45 minutes for a 4 tire change.... read more

I was in the Schillinger Road store on May 18, 2023 for an oil change and tire rotation. The rep at the front desk asked about my wiper blades and I was unsure when they were last changed so I asked him to check and let me know. Didn't have to wait too awfully long for my car to be ready. My total was $121.24 far and above the $63.33 total all included that I was told over the phone. Well, I was told that labor was added, the oil filter was changed and they replaced my wipers. Mind you, I wanted them to check and let me know and let me make the decision. So I paid even though I really did not have the extra money and went on my way. My big mistake was not checking my vehicle before leaving the business. When I got in my vehicle the next morning to go to work, I checked my tire pressure and they had not even checked it and put air in the tires, which is standard with any oil change. I then decided to check to see if they had rotated my tires that I was told over the phone is included with the oil change, and no surprise, NO THEY HAD NOT! I knew because a few months ago I had an emergency repair on one of the tires and the tech did not put the valve stem cover back on the tire. That tire was in the same spot. My son took it back on May 20, 2023, to have them rectify the problem. The rep at the counter basically told my son that he's lying and walked off. When I bought my tires there a couple years ago, I was very satisfied with the service and staff. But this new "crew" is horrible! Lost another customer to bad service. read more
