this was the fourth place I had been. free air for tires-they are broke, air goes out not in. Mohawk st. had removed theres'. so I went here. I could not get anyone to help me, BUT at Mavis, the guy at the counter was so nice. a young man by the name of Christian helped me, or rather he did it. he was also very pleasent, and quick, and he deserves a raise. read more

I went to Mavis on Oriskany St in Utica NY this evening because I had a headlight out. As I was walking up to the door a gentleman said hello to me and I noticed the Mavis shirt he was wearing so I told him I needed a headlight bulb and asked if he could put it in for me and he said they close in 8 minutes( yes it was 4:52) and it would take an hour to change a bulb in my kind of car(a 2018 Chevy Equinox) so I got in my car and went down the road to Auto Zone. I walked in told the kid as the register that I needed a bulb for the passenger side headlight and asked if they would put it in. The kid said yes got my vehicle make and model and asked which bulb I needed. My car takes 2 on each side. I told him I wasnt sure so he asked where my car was. I walked him out to my car and he took out the old bulb then him and I walked back into the store. He grabbed the correct bulb and told me he needed grease to put in it to put it in I said ok. He cashed me out, put the grease in the bulb, walked back out with me and put the bulb back in. Then hole process took 10 minutes not an hour like the guy at Mavis said it would take. I will not be going back to that Mavis ever again! That guy shouldn't even be working there if it takes him an hour to change a light bulb!!!! read more

Great place, the work was done correctly the first time. everyone was very helpful. would definitely recommend.

Great service, honest, they won't sell you something that you don't need or pressure you in to anything

Brought my car in for a rotation last minute and they were very helpful all around. They let me know I am in need of tie rods and were nice enough to quote me and talk me through it along with replacing a missing lug nut free of charge. Would recommend read more

We were traveling through the Utica area last night when we suddenly heard a pop in our front tire. My husband and I searched for a place to get our tire fixed, as it was closing time and many places were closed or closing. We found Mavis on Oriskany Street and pulled in. We were immediately impressed by the manager. He noticed our military license plate and said that he would take care of us, especially since he values the men and women of the armed forces. He and his staff could not have been more accommodating and professional. After a short time, we were back on the road. We were grateful to this man for staying the extra time, after hours, to help us out. There are still good, caring people out there. Thank God, we found one. read more

Had a slow leak in my tire, stopped by the store, didn't need an appointment, they got me right in. I waited about 15 minutes and it was fixed. Super fast, the staff were all very friendly and ready and willing to assist. The cost for the repair was minimal and I was on my way. Definitely would recommend. read more

Had a set of 4 tires placed on my Jeep and Zack didn't try to upsell me. We went with reasonably priced streetable tires. Had the 4 wheel alignment done with shocks and, the pre and post printout was done on the alignment to show how far out of specs that the wheels were. All for a very reasonable price. read more

Did an excellent job my car had my brakes and rotors done.

Made an appointment to get new snow tires. Showed up and was told the tires wouldn't be there for at least a couple of hours because the person who made my appointment failed to realize the delivery truck wouldn't come on Thanksgiving day. Other folks were in there also waiting for the tire truck to show up, so you know it would take a long time to get through the wait. They didn't care the tires weren't there, no apologies, no offer to help or even waive the $17 installation fee. Nothing. Told them to cancel the order. I'll find a place that cares. read more

I originally took my car to TalIman's Tire in Yorkville to get my tire checked out, they could fix it, and have gave me quote to get a new tire replaced. I thought I was being ripped off because reading all the bad reviews about them. I don't feel comfortable having my tire replaced there, so I took my car to Mavis's. I'm reading all those nice reviews about this place made believed this place has great service, honest peoples and I'm getting a good deal. After get my tire replaced, I asked them to put my Spare tire away from me, they decided to lied to me, and accusing Tallman's broke the parts to put the Spare tire back in place. Made a fool of myself going back to Tallman's Tire to get my Spare Tire put in back in my car. The peoples at Tallman's was being kind enough to put it back in where it belong. After all I ditched them to go to Mavis's. Their young mechanic is more knowledge then Mavis's or maybe the mechanic at Mavis is just being too lazy? I can't even trust them putting back my Spare tire back on my car, how can I trust this place ever to fix anything in my car? I was very disappointed, this will be my first and last time at Mavis's. I will never refer my friends or family members to bring their car here that's for sure. I definitely don't recommend anybody to bring their car here to this location. read more

This place has terrible service. The mechanic said to wait about an hour for a wheel alignment and I've been waiting for almost four hours. There's people in the garage on their cell phones, counting money in their wallet, but hardly any time spent on cars. They're all walking around slowly and lethargically and it seems like they couldn't care less about the customer. I highly recommend not going here for any reason as you will have to wait a long time. read more

I brought my Corolla in to have the muffler fixed. They looked at it. Stated to me you need a new muffler. Also needs a special part that they don't carry. So I needed to put down a $50.00 deposit (not refundable). Total cost would be $450.00. They told me the dealership would charge over $1000.00. Arranged to come back in on March 28, 2019. Had to go to toyota dealership that morning for a airbag recall. I had them give me an estimate on the muffler. Dealership gave me a price of $128.00 and no special part was needed. Had the dealership do the job. Called the 800 number on Mavis receipt. Talked to a person and after they took my information they stated they would call me back. Today is April 9, 2019. They have not called back. I found out that the staff at the desk work on commission. That tells me why they tried to rip me off. I have been going to Mavis for years and so has my family and friends. This is how Mavis treats loyal customers. Not anymore. I am done with them. It will be my mission to spread the word. read more
