For 2009 Acura tl Ordered Hankook tires and tpms sensor replacement for all 4 wheels. Spoke to a customer representative to confirm the order. Just before the scheduled appointment, Mavis called and said tire shipping delayed by 1 day. No big deal. Dropped car off next day at noon for service. I was told it would be 60-90 minutes. I did not get car back until 5pm. Took 5 hours. Service person called around 1:30 to tell me that battery in tpms sensor was bad in 3 tires. I told her I know and that's why I scheduled all 4 to be replaced. Got the car back and noticed 3 new rubber valve stems plus 1 metal(original one) that was not replaced. I requested all 4 to be replaced. Now I have 3 sensors/batteries that I know are good for several years and 1 with who knows how long the battery will last. I don't want to have to go back anytime soon to have the 4th sensor replaced. They only charged for the 3 sensors. But there was an additional charge on invoice for 4 rubber valve stems even though the sensors come with valve stems. HUGE MARKUP ON TPMS SENSORS They charged me.$130.00 for each TPMS sensor. The exact sensor i.e AUTEL MX can be bought at many retailers for $30.00 - $40.00 each. I went back to the store and they refunded me the money for the 4 additional rubber valve stems that I did not need or receive. Bad communication. Requested for all tpms sensors to be replaced and ony replaced 4. Bad service estimates . 5 hours instead of 1.5. Huge markup on tpms sensors $130.00 each vs $30.00 each at retail stores. I had a blowout on my travel trailer in Massachusetts, and continued my journey to Pennsylvania after putting on the spare. I contacted Mavis in Matamoras, PA. Mike in Matamoras didn't have my tire in stock, but located one in their Middletown, NY store which was on my way. He put that aside for me. Leon in Middletown provided excellent customer service, even offering to stay late if I arrived at closing. Fortunately, I made it on time, the tire was replaced, and I was back on my way quickly. We called ahead and confirmed the 2 tires we needed were in stock at approx 1130am..our truck was towed to the bayside lakes location in Palm Bay, FL and arrived approx 12pm. Worst tire experience ever!! They told us on the phone would take a cpl hours ..no problem...so we wasted a cpl hours then had someone bring us to the store thinking it would be close to being ready. Noooo! They didn't even pull into the bay until 5pm..it's now 545, no one appears to be working on it and they close in 15 minutes! 6 hours!! For 2 tires! Other customers even commented they didn't know why their vehicle was done before they even started on ours. These people didn't have appointments. read more

I've been a long-term customer of Mavis. Been going there for years, ever since I got my first car. They tend to tell you that you need certain things done in order to pass inspection, that don't actually need done, but I was willing to let that side. When I went for my scheduled inspection today, they had told me that my papers needed to have all of the same information, which wasn't a problem, but then told me that 'the inspector was on a phone call and they needed to make sure that he was okay' the man at the counter left me waiting there for 5-10 minutes and came back telling me that my inspection couldn't be done today because the inspector had to leave. I went across the street, just to sit and try to figure something out, and when I drove past 10 minutes later, the inspector was standing outside smoking a cigarette. Awesome customer service! I had a 4 pm appointment today to have my tire looked at as it had a slow leak. I arrived a-little early but John and Ray were more than accommodating. They got right to work and I was out of there before my actual appointment time. They did find a small screw in my tire and plugged it. Came in for an oil change , brought my own oil here and everything to save money and make the process a little bit faster and ended up here for hours . Staff isn't professional, losing tools , not able to do what is required for the job , very slow and lazy. Rude and poor customer service. Mavis did a phenomenal job on my 2017 grand caravan. They made shore everything was good since I am moving to Florida and driving down there. The manager Chris and his mechanic Edward jr, did a great work on the car it's driving way better then how I brought it in. Went to Mavis to purchase four tires for my car and after sitting for about an hour the service manager came out and told me that my brakes were low and if I'd like to have the technician change them. I said no thank you I would do that on my own. The next day I found out the wheels were scuffed by their tire machine. Took the car back to Mavis and their initial response was that it was already there. After going through the corporate office in New York and a few times back to Mavis, corporate decided to repair my wheels. They found out they couldn't repair the damage they did so they gave me new ones and a rent a car while we waited for the wheels to be fixed. Corporate stood up and took care of my car while the facility I got my tires from acts like it was my fault the wheels got scuffed. It's poor value and I will never take another car back there ever again. The lesson here? Check your tires before you leave. read more

I went to this place to have a tire plugged in and was told it would take one or two hours to remove the hazard from the tire. Approximately four hours later, I returned to this location, and no one called to inform me that my tire was fixed and done. Forty dollars later, and this is the service you get. I would never take my kid's bicycle to these clowns for service. read more

The Manager and his crew at the original Mavis in Brodheadsville are the best. I ran over a pack of screws in the road recently during a wet, sloppy snow storm. Of course three screws lodged into my rear passenger tire, not repairable. I was on a tight time constraint and highly stressed about it. They fit me in, changed out the tire, and got me on the road. Stopped in to ask cost of wheel bearings should my car need it. They said ,"sure sir". let us put on the lift and look at it. After which they informed me that my car was too dangerous to drive and I couldn't have it back except to tow it off lot. Then I was given an estimate to replace two wheel bearings at over $1000.00. Was charged a 1600% markup on parts: $525.00 for two small bearings which retail for less than $25.00 each. Realizing I made a big mistake, for starters they are slow was told I would be in and out got there at 12:45 didn't leave until 2:30 just to have 1 tire replaced! What's really burning me up is the recommendation on the paper work of front and rear brakes, and rotors, front struts and rear shocks, are you freaking kidding me, I just got brakes and rotors done about 3 months ago, had just come straight there from Toyota who did not make one mention of me needing brakes or anything else, Toyota also did a multipoint inspection so they are bold face liars at Mavis on Frankford Avenue, the only reason I came there for the tire was because Toyota wanted $260 for 1 tire as opposed to Mavis wanting about $100 less but after reading the reviews I'm so afraid that they did something to my car, only time will tell, it was not worth me saving money, next time I will get everything done at Toyota no matter what it cost, Toyota has never tried to rip me off not in the 7 years I've been going there. read more

Came here to get 2 tires changed. I had the first available appointment at 8am and was there until about 10:20.... All for 2 tires to be changed and a rotation. I honestly feel like they were taking their good old time for no reason. My boyfriend who went to school for automotive even said this job should've taken an hour to an hour and a half max to do. I don't understand why they are telling you something that is not true. About me saying that the car comes out fixed is also false, if it were fixed I wouldn't have to return so many times. My car wasn't like this when I first took it in. If now they say it's the bomb because they didn't find what it was from the beginning and they have been taking 1,360.00 money from me by inventing something else. Took my car to have a nail removed from tire and to have tire plugged. Paid for service and was told tire was repaired. got home and inspected tire- no plug and nail still in tire with slow leak. Went in for 4 new tires on my 15 Equinox. Right off the bat the staff was very slow and miserable. I was pressured into buying the Mavis brand tire, which was fine at the time. Right after getting the vehicle back the tire monitoring system was blinking. I tried resetting the system but it was not recognizing 3 of the 4 tires. Went back and they said the sensor batteries are dead and wanted me to schedule to have Mavis sensors installed. What a coincidence, they just happened to die after you changed the tires. I read numerous reviews where the same thing happened. I have a 2004 CTS that still have the original sensors and batteries. I also have 3 tires that slowly lose air pressure for no apparent reason. Get a set of name brand tires off tirerack.com and have a smaller local business swap and balance for you. You'll save money and a lot of hassle. I also purchased new sensors off Amazon. I wouldn't be shocked if they take the tires off the rim and the sensors aren't even there at this point. read more

Brookhaven, PA: Son had an appointment for oil change and brakes on Saturday, 4/15/23. After work was "completed" and payment made for $1037; he was unable to drive truck due due load rubbing noise. He left truck at Mavis for them to fix problems on Sunday which lead into Monday. Monday was told it was done, one of their techs was putting on lug nuts and a test drive. Drove the truck home Monday, again making same load noises. His father test drove it and felt it was unsafe to drive. Mavis is notified of complaint as was regional manager John. Tuesday, son misses work (lost wages for the day) and takes truck to our mechanic. Regional manager was informed as well. Our mechanic goes over all that needs to be repaired with regional manager, as he wanted to get "eyes" on the problem. Regional manager supplied pads and rotors for replacement. Mechanic needed to replace calipers, brake hose and brake fluid. His bill $1246. Several phone calls/texts to regional manager John and of course customer service made. As of the time of this review no return calls have been received. I want to know how Mavis is going to rectify this situation. read more

Low quality customer service. Had a nail in my tire brought it in to the Mt Ephraim, NJ store to be patched. The patch was placed incorrectly and the hole was not plugged. Unaware I was driving on this for 4 months. I placed a temporarily replacement tire on the car with the expectation that they would honor the original tire; however Ellis the district manager was not willing to meet me halfway and instead offered me an in store voucher for the cheap temporary tire that I had to pay for so I wasn't driving around on a donut. I would have been happy if they would have even just considered paying for half of the new tire (literally an extra $100). Very sad establishment. I would add the service I received at the Maple Shade store was top notch and the manager there deserves a promotion. read more
